Triton electric shower help please

I'm replacing a triton shower, I can't afford too much at the moment and it needs to be an 8.5kw
Screw fix has various Triton 8.5kw showers
most of them state
  • Delivers 3.5Ltr/min at 1bar
I have no idea what this actually means but one of the Triton 8.5kw showers states
  • Delivers 8Ltr/min at 1bar
does that higher number mean it is a better shower? is it worth an extra £50? or is it a typo? as on the Triton website I can't see an 8.5kw shower stating this

Can you give us an example of the one showing 3.5l at 1 bar?

The majority of electric showers on the Triton website state the minimum running pressure at 1 bar @ 8l/min or 1.5bar @ 11l/min for 10.5 Kw showers.

What the value means is that the minimum requirement for an electric shower is that your mains supply is at least 1 bar and has a minimum flow rate at 8l per min. Having a flow rate of 3.5l per minute before the connection would be unusually low so I suspect it is a misprint or possibly a shower designed specifically for low mains pressure.

https://www.screwfix.com/p/triton-t80-easi-fit-white-chrome-8-5kw-thermostatic-electric-shower/8178v - This one claims 3.5l@1bar on the Screwfix page. Over on the Triton site, it states 8l@1bar..
I suffer from a low water pressure, but decided to pay a bit more for the T80 thermostatic - Well worth the extra in my opinion (although prices have gone up since).

Apart from the one I mentioned, all the Triton 8.5kw showers on screwfix are 3.5Ltr/min

Thanks, I've looked at the T80 and on screwfix it says 3.5Ltr/min at 1bar, again I'm not even that sure what that means, and does thermostatic mean a better shower?

    the old one was the
Triton Enrich 8.5kw, I've just moved house and been stung by a lot of hidden problems, I don't mind paying £50 for a btter shower but if there is no real difference I'll get a cheaper one

Ignore what Screwfix says on their site. The numbers published by Triton are far more likely to be accurate. If in doubt, open the box up whilst in Screwfix and have a read of the manual.
For me, the thermostatic control means no wildly fluctuating temperatures should the water pressure drop. Also means I can leave it set to a temperature that I like, and it will be the same next time I use it. As to whether it is worth the extra, only you can decide.

Think that must be a typo.  The cheapest option is usually to buy exactly the same model again so that it's easy to take the old one out and put the new one staright in as the wiring and pipe should be in the same place

I cannot see one 8.5kW shower delivering more similar-temp water than another. How could it be otherwise? kW in = water temp rise out.
Differing figures could possibly be based on either different temp rises, or different ambient water temps.
All such electric showers will deliver a much greater flow during summer...

Choose a model that's the easiest to fit - plumbing (especially) and cable in the same places as currently.

Looking at screwfix's Triton product pages, the flow figures are all over the place and not consistent with the kW at all

thanks everyone for the explanations :)
I'll go with the shower that's sold as the replacement for the one I had
