Temporary event notices

I live next to a pub which I accept will bring a certain amount of noise and I’m content with the hours this occurs as listed in their license.

They have however had a few temporary event which means they can open later and play music (regulated entertainment isn’t listed in their actual license but they have it ticked in the temporary license). The noise in my opinion is unacceptable and I’m told they can get up to 20 temporary licenses a year, nearly every other weekend! This pub is on a residential road with no other shops etc

Looking online it seems only environmental health or the police can object to the temporary licenses. Is there anything I can do to at least limit the music levels?

Thanks!

Have you, or would you be willing to, speak to the landlord of the pub ?
That seems to be the logical first step - pubs don't want escalating rows with the locals, especially if they are in residential areas.
One of our local live music pub shas a 'traffic light' system installed for live bands - if they are playing at an acceptable volume it stays green, amber is a warining that they should turn the volume down, and red cuts off the ower ?

I spoke with the manager and he said they are allowed to play the music under the TEN. He also did turn it down a bit but it made little difference.

If it's genuinely a problem then you report the noise as a nuisance to the council. You should normally be able to do that online at your council's website. They will then carry out their own investigations and decide what to do about it, which may include objecting to any future applications for a TEN or may be that they do nothing if they consider it to be acceptable.
