Have a problem with E.on Next
Gas meter outside not registering with smart meter since September
Have tried contacting E.on on numerous occasions to check sayed meter
have only paid standing charges for gas, tried to get the ombudsman involved but have to wait 8 weeks before they get involved
question is where do I stand
I have gave up trying to get E.on

Put an estimated amount aside each month so you have it ready when they inevitably catch up. That's all you can do.0

You need to get your terminology of the hardware correct. The "smart meter" is the meter outside, the thing inside is the IHD, a simple toy and not a necessary item, the fact it is not connecting with your meter is of no real consequence to billing. Your problem seems to be that your meter is not connecting to the data collector and / or Eon Next. Are you taking readings, supplying them to Eon Next and keeping note of them ? You need to keep on at the supplier, work out your own costs from your readings and wait out the 8 weeks from your complaint.

My my smart meter was not registering when I moved in. I read the meter on the day I moved in and regularly after that until anew smart meter was fitted. COVID restrictions delayed the change., Only standing charge was billed but once They updated my account with my readings it was sorted out.0

Take a reading *right now*, preferably with some kind of evidence that it was from today (e.g. a date stamped photo of the meter). Prices for gas are going through the roof and when they eventually catch up and send you a bill you don't want it to be at the higher rate!1

Have you tried pressing buttons to wake the display up ? Mine has a black button.
Does the electric communicate OK ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -

If you can post a photo of the meter, there may be people here that can explain how to get the local display on the meter to show the current reading.
Do you have an actual reading from the past - before the meter went "dead" in September?
"Dead" most likely means it is just communication that is a fault, not that the meter is failing to measure gas consumption locally.0 -
yes if I could get a reading
sent eon msg with video attached they said the meter was dead have tried pressing the buttons as asked by eon to no avail0
