Best time to switch

Options
Hi all,

My contact with Plusnet ends at the end of this month (April).
Would like to move back to Vodafone (aware some don't like them but live in the sticks with limited options and can't fault the speed)

My dilemma is, do I start the switch now? Downside is the CPI price increase will kick in currently on new Vodafone contracts, plus terms and conditions for the gift card promo state you can't have been with them in the last 12 months (it would be a couple of weeks short of 12 months if I switch before the end of April).

But if I wait, the gift card offer ends in the next couple of weeks, plus is the monthly cost likely to be higher since the CPI window would have passed for this year!

Rolling contract with Plusnet isnt an option as they are saying either pay twice as much (£41) a month rolling or sign another 12 months with them and I'd rather not do either!

  • @gadgetollie More a question than any kind of suggestion. Are you suggesting that monthly costs currently being advertised by Vodafone (and the resellers) do not include the 2022 CPI+ price increase? I thought effective date was 1 April?

If you can’t be a new VF customer with  the benefits of a new customer before at least  12 months have elapsed since  you were last a VF customer, and if the the gift card promotion ends before those 12 months are up, then you probably don’t want to factor that in when considering becoming a VF customer again.
On the face if it you cant qualify for that gift card , if you move back before the 12 months , you are excluded , and obviously if you re join and there isn’t a gift card promotion running , you won’t get a gift card, there doesn’t seem to be a way around that.

FWIT there have been continuous Vodafone gift card promotions for at least the past six months (I joined on a previous promotion back at the start of October). The value has varied but there has always been one.
Obviously this doesn't guarantee that it will continue indefinitely but there's a good chance there will be another to follow the current promotion.
