Sorry, the claim form was received today and I responded on mcol this evening.
    Received form today... responded today...

And then decided to ask questions.

  • I wrote the in defence box as follows:
I defend this claim in it’s entirety.  I have not, or ever been the registered keeper or owner of any vehicle with that registration mark.

    I panicked 😞

I stated that I fully deny the claim - should I have not ?
And where exactly did you state that? In the 'Defence and Counterclaim' text box?

Hopefully not, as that will be taken as your full Defence.
    Oh dear - I’ve messed up haven’t I?

Then that is the entirety of your defence. Hopefully you can get the claim withdrawn before it gets to a hearing once you have proof from the DVLA, but it would not surprise me if the PPC carried on regardless.

You must continue with all the complaints, relentlessly, until it is cancelled.
I married my cousin. I had to...
    I don't have a sister. :D
    All my screwdrivers are cordless.

Does the Claimant know who was driving that vehicle?

A SAR should show you how they've matched the car to you.  Did you hire a car?

Thank you - I just read the form and it said use mcol and because I thought it was straightforward and had to write something in there - I just did it.  Thank you for your help and guidance - should anything happen again I know where to look in the first instance.
I don’t suppose I can call the court tomorrow and retract it?

No, not at all - I own two other vehicles. I think I know why though - 🤷‍♀️ A family member and myself share the same name!

Don't try to detract your defence.

You can't without paying money and in your unusual case, you don't have to; if this is possibly a case of mistaken identity with someone of the same name then your defence is better than any template and should be enough.

You can expand on it at Witness Statement and evidence stage.  See the 2nd post of the NEWBIES thread for what happens next.
