QDR

I recently paid off some outstanding debt with a small windfall that I got (was all spent on this). Soon after I received a text from QDR stating I owed them money for payday loans that I did not pay from 10 years ago. They just tried to call me on this. The only thing i have done is log into their website, I have not acknowledged the debt. Surely if the debt they bought is 10 years old they can not legally enforce this given as its way over the 6 year statute of limitation? Is my next step to send a cease and desist letter?

Is this related to a private parking charge?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

There is this one that may be more helpful than the parking board: -

QDR are some of the biggest bulls**ters out there.  These are just aggressive begging letters/ phone calls.  It is not uncommon for QDR and other such firms to still send out letters/ badger people way beyond the 6 year statute barring period has passed. They just try it on in the hope that people get frightened into setting up payments/ plans due to pony threats of bailiffs, CCJs and not being aware of their rights or the law. They are total p1ss artists!

They buy these debt leads for peanuts and treat it like a lucky dip sending out their template threatograms or even telephone coldcalls until they get a bite.

Payday loan companies are also exploitative parasites much like their bedfellows at QDR and many parking companies.
