Having tried to submit readings during the evening a day ago, I was redirected to the page saying:
We apologise for the delay - our website is extremely busy right now.
So, I figured (wrongly) that I could log in later when it wasn't busy, see what you make of the results.
(Yes, all the times are accurate, give or so a minute.)- Login attempt: 00.15

but before I do, let's just check:

At least someone can host a webstite that still works in the middle of the night,
though I suspect I could have done this a lot earlier without any problem.
(And the password security is done properly as well, none of this nonsense about
having to choose one capital letter, one digit, and some punctuation as well which
has been long discredited by security experts as it just results in weak passwords.)
They want people to manage their account online as they don't want to deal with the cost of printing
and sending paper statements, but if I can't log in, not only can I not submit readings but neither can
I check payments or download my bills. The system becomes unusable.
I'll never believe another website message from them saying how busy their site is after this fiasco.
Hope it's back up and running properly before I need to give my proper monthly readings, or I'll
be trying out some of the alternative suggestions posted earlier.

It's about time Shell Energy started considering their customers more and provided a usable serviceI doubt that it has any long-term interest when it comes to system improvements given that the future of Shell Energy Retail is under review with a sale to ANOther supplier in mind.
