If you are on a smart meter it doesn't really matter but either way take picture of your meters or smart meter and store them away if needed to dispute bills.

Anyone managed to get on the site yet?  Might have to try again later...would there likely be a cut off point for meter readings uploading today?
  • hello all - try circumventing the account log-in and submit via the Shell Self Service Centre - scroll to the 'click here to submit your readings button' under managing your own account

I would paste the link but am not allowed as just joined

take a screenshot BEFORE pressing submit - download the png file screenshot and save somewhere as evidence that you submitted readings (it has the date details etc.)

    hope this helps

  • If you want to submit your readings, go to the Facebook page of Shell Energy, send them  personal message with your account number and meter readings.
Only found this out after reading the few responses to complaints from users
No announcement on FB about issues and what to do.
Also the website has probably gone down because of the number of people using it. Should have been planned for by them and had a temporary capacity increase, not that difficult to do.
A shambolic company, no way of complaining about them, OFGEM is a toothless Tiger.

I've only been with Shell since January. Will they have been given my useage history? I want to know if the suggested monthly payment increase will take into account my lower useage in the summer.

it seems to be permanantly busy I have no wish for a meter as I am capable of reading my own meter .is this perhaps a way to push people into getting a meter put in ?

I haven't bothered submitting mine this time as there is so little difference in the price per unit.  Mine only differs at the third decimal place of a penny.   The standing charge however is getting bigger.  Still we mustn't deprive the shareholders of any of their cut.

Data collectors have been storing readings for some properties for over 70 years. When a supply is transferred from one supplier to another, then the new supplier’s data collector gets 2 years’ worth of past data. It uses this data to validate the switch opening/closing reading.
