Electrical faults found- what should I do?

I am currently in the process of buying my first property and I have found some issues with the electrics. It is currently vacant and is on a key payment plan with a few pounds still on the meter.
The property is completely electric including the boiler. On my last visit, the lights were not working and I have never been able to turn on the hot water.

I am not sure what I should do about this? Should I pay for an electrical installation condition report or should I get an electrician to review the property. Are there other options?
Any advice would be great!

What did the vendor say when you asked why the lights don't work? What did the vendor say about the boiler?Has your solicitor sent Enquiries to the vendor? What replies did he give? You say "a key payment plan with a few pounds still on the meter. " are you sure the electrics are on/live? Sending round an electrician will be pointless unless there is power that he can use to check!

I turned on the power from the fuse box and it still didn't work. Like you said it would be pointless for an electrician to check if there isn't any power. I'm not sure what I should do now?

Are you sure that there is still credit left on the meter and it's not overdrawn by a few pounds instead? That would seem more likely if it's been vacant for a while as the daily standing charge would still have been taken off.1

The hot water has never worked, the estate agent did not know how to use the boiler so I am not sure if the boiler is broken or if it is turned off.0 -

I believe what user1977 was asking was whether or not it was just the lights and boiler that didn't work (and the other electrics did) or was it all of the electrics that didn't work?

What is the heating - storage, panel or electric wet (as above) ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Have you tried plugging something into a socket?Or using any other electrics?Sounds like there's nopower rather than any faults.Bt if the 'boiler' does not work, budget to replace it. In fact even if it works, budget to replace it - they cost a bomb to run!Or find another property.0

This is my first property and it is the first time I've seen a boiler like this so I have no experience with how this works. Should I get a professional to check it works?
