US and Canadian networks frequently charge for incoming calls and texts unless you have them as part of your package. They don't charge roamers on their networks though.eDicky said:Martin_the_Unjust said:
No they are not, if you are using your phone abroad the cost of receiving a text is up to the network you are using abroad, it may be free, it frequently is not.eDicky said:Martin_the_Unjust said:The above is wrong, I’ve certainly been charged for receiving text messages abroad.Text messages over mobile networks are always free to receive. This applies to any network worldwide, roaming anywhere. So you appear to be mistaken. Can you demonstrate how you were charged? The only possibility might be some kind of roaming package that only charges on days when there is activity.Deleted_User said:Some foreign networks charge their own users for incoming calls and texts.
