NatWest won’t send money to Atom Bank

Has anyone encountered this issue and been able to overcome it? I opened a saver account with Atom bank and you link your bank account to it to pay in and withdraw. NatWest say they won’t allow transfers to Atom bank and say Atom is not a confirmed payee. There sort code comes up as invalid. Apparently there is nothing they can do to override it. It seems ridiculous I can’t transfer my money to an account in my own name! I know others who bank with Lloyds and they have been fine, so I’m not sure if it’s just an issue with NatWest.

You should be fine to make a transfer now. I’ve used the RBS app this afternoon, and you now get the option to make the transfer at your own risk. As RBS is part of NatWest group, I’d expect the you’d have the same option.

Thanks for your reply, unfortunately this is a specific problem NatWest have with Atom bank, the sort code is not recognised on their system, even though they confirm it is the correct sort code so there is no way to over ride it by all accounts
