Nutmeg - choosing portfolio

Can anyone suggest which Nutmeg portfolio to choose and pros/cons between Fully ManagedSmart Alpha and Fixed Allocation? I've read about them but am none the wiser as to which would be the best option.

The best option is the one that is most suitable for your objectives and your opinion.

With Nutmeg being a very basic option, I would go with the cheapest.

When we had Nutmeg LISAs we picked a risk level within the cheaper Fixed Allocation and it was perfectly adequate although still hardly 'cheap' so we eventually transferred elsewhere. Still they are ok for a beginner or someone who doesn't want to get too involved.

I've been pleased with my Nutmeg Fully Managed portfolio. My OH now wants to invest and they've added the Smart Alpha so it's really wanting to know if it's a better choice for growth. I definitely don't have the knowledge or want the stress to choose my own funds.

Why Nutmeg - what are you looking to achieve and what level of risks are you willing to take?

Its a while I have used Nutmeg, I thought they used to ask a series of questions to answer the above and propose a solution for you.

They are one of the highest-rated robo investor platforms.
I'm happy to choose a medium high risk.
Yes they ask a series of questions but it's still down to the customer to choose the investment style portfolio.

I have no knowledge of the Nutmeg portfolios, but massively dislike the pseudo-science naming!   It would make me run a mile...

Has anyone else who has/had a Nutmeg S&S ISA found the returns are poor (actually -minus!). im no expert at all, but do expect a little return for having a medium/slightly higher risk profile, but my Nutmeg ISA has returned -1.19% over the last year, so im actually worse off!!. not impressed, i won`t be investing there anymore and note Martin has said "ditch the ISA"

I have highlighted the significant word in bold.

On the first page of Nutmegs website ( as with all investment websites ) it says this . 'With investment, your capital is at risk'

It is not Nutmeg , it is the financial markets that your money is invested in and they have been turning negative especially since the start of 2022. Probably your fund will have lost about 5% at least since January 1st , maybe more .

and note Martin has said "ditch the ISA"
If you actually read what he says , he is talking cash ISA's which is something totally different .
