A few more details would help!  Did you receive letter before/of claim and then a N1 claim form and fail to deal with it?  As you are asking for examples of witness statement I assume you are going for a set-aside.  There are examples of those in the NEWBIE sticky/announcement on first page of the forum.  You could also search for some other threads by using the search facility and putting CCJ set-aside as your search words.

Have you read the NEWBIES yet?
There is information about the set-aside process in the guide to court you will find in the sticky Announcement for NEWBIES.

Did you receive a PCN? If not, have you moved in the last six years such that a PCN and court claim will have gone to a previous address?

What is the name of the PPC please.

  • original PCN was sent to old address I did not receive it as moved but I received 4 DCB legal letters for different cars the same location which I dealt with 2 of then acknowledged and defence following the NEWBIES by coupon  however the last one did not come same day so I did the acknowledgment but I forgot to put in a defence and I now have Notice of Debt Recovery

If you ignored a court claim that went to the right address then you may not have grounds to set aside the CCJ.

If it went to a wrong address you would.

Loads and loads of CCJ set aside threads here for you to read, plus a whole section about it in the NEWBIES FAQS Announcement.

If the judgment date is less than 30 days ago you can pay it off and no CCJ will exist.  BUT DON'T just pay it otherwise.

How much is the CCJ and what date was judgment?

    Which PPC?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    The PPC is not DCBL.

Please tell us the name of the PPC (the claimant).

OK, and they used an old address because your car logbook wasn't changed when you moved?

Or because you moved house after the PCN date?

the date judgement was made 28th of February
As we said, the options are either: pay it in full or set it aside and we've told you where the resources are to start you off.  If not paying it by day 30, please come back early next week once you've read some CCJ SET ASIDE threads and know that is needed, and we'll check and help with your draft documents.
