Tax credits and 30 hours free childcare

Hi
DS2 has been attending nursery with 15 hours free childcare, as he is now 3 and also receives DLA the nursery have informed me he could be eligible for 30 hours free childcare, I went online to apply and it popped up and said "Your tax credits payments will reduce depending on how many of the 30 hours you use a week".
We do not receive Working tax credits, only the child element for our 4 children and the disability element for DS2.
Depending on how much we lose in tax credits will determine whether I apply for the 30 hours free childcare or not, due to energy costs and other bills rising, we can't really afford to lose more income atm and as a SAHM I'm at home for DS2 anyway.
So my question is are we likely to lose Tax Credits if we receive the 30 hours free childcare?
If you need any more information please ask and I'll do my best to answer.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

One thing to be careful of is that the 30 hour application process is combined with Tax -Free Childcare. make sure you do not accidentally claim TFC as doing that will terminate your tax credit claim completely.
One other point - you say you are a SAHM, have you checked the eligibility criteria for 30 hours to make sure you meet one of the exceptions? https://www.gov.uk/30-hours-free-childcare2 -

I did notice the TFC and made sure I selected no for that.
Nursery believe DS is entitled to the 30 hours free childcare due to receiving DLA and asked me to apply.0 -

I'm not aware of access to 30 hour childcare due to a child receiving DLA - unless there is a different scheme or a specific rule. 30 hour childcare is for working parents or where one parent is working but the other parent is in receipt of certain benefits. Check the link on the page i gave you which explains.1 -

I am unable to work because I’m disabled or a carer. Can I still be eligible for 30 free hours?
If you are in a couple, and one of you meets the earnings requirements but one of you is unable to work because you have a disability or you are a carer, then you will be exempt from the earnings requirement.
In this circumstance, one of you must be working and the other would need to provide evidence that you are unable to work by showing that you are receiving Incapacity Benefit, Severe Disablement Allowance, Carer’s Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance, or the carer element or the limited capability for work and work-related activity element of Universal Credit.
