Options for New Tariff

It's actually not obvious that the standing charges are the same. In fact I'd expect them to be different.Cassidy_uk said:Standing charges are both the same obviously the variable tariff is cheaper per KWh at the moment0 -
If you don't mind sharing what your annual usage figures in kWh are @Cassidy_uk we could give a slightly more informed response.0

The standing charges for EON.Next Next Flex and Online V13 are the same. In my area 42.24p/day (electricity). The unit charges are different. In my area (North West) Next Flex is 28.01 and V13 is 40.59. My calculation on annual usage of 3410kWh was that Next Flex would have to go up by over 75% in October to make V13 cheaper over next 12 months.First 6 months @ Next Flex = £555 or £93pmFirst 6 months @ V13 = £769 or £128pm2nd 6 months @V13 = £769.Amount needed in 2nd 6 months for Next Flex to be more than V13: £983 or £163pm. This is £70pm more than in first 6 months, which is an increase of 75%.I am gambling on the October increase being less than 75% and staying with Next Flex.0

My Electric usage last year was 2,809kWh
Gas usage 13,443kWh0 -
So I guess it depends on if the Next Flex goes up in April0

It's basically certain it will go up. The question is by how much.Cassidy_uk said:So I guess it depends on if the Next Flex goes up in April0 -
So the gamble is do I take the higher V13 fixed rate now assuming the Next Flex will go up in April0

Next Flex is going up in April to the prices you have already quoted - they are the April prices, current Next Flex are around 21p electric and 4p gas. It is the October increase that is in question, now that the Middle East and USA are going to help out the pressure on prices might ease.

Good point! I was referring to the likely increase in October.molerat said:Next Flex is going up in April to the prices you have already quoted - they are the April prices, current Next Flex are around 21p electric and 4p gas.0 -
