Hi all, I'm trying to book a flight from Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) to Manila (Philippines) and they currently have a promotion from 1st July where the ticket is only 178 USD. I want to travel on 24th June but the price for that day is currently 338 USD.

The promo fare offers 'Unlimited free rebooking' (https://www.philippineairlines.com/en/promotions/81stanniversary-sgn) - is there anything from stopping me booking a ticket for say 5th July, waiting a few weeks, then re-booking for 24th June? I remember reading something about this years ago on moneysavingexpert but have never done it myself. I can't see anywhere in the promo rules that suggests I can't do this.

Does anyone have any thoughts? I want to be fairly confident I can change the date (for a minimal/zero fee) before I book it! Thanks!

The Philippine Airlines' Anniversary Seat Sale!  promotion page says Unlimited Rebooking .. …
Travel dates are subject to availability. Rebooking must be made 24hours prior to departure flights. Fare differences may apply.

You can change the date with no fee but the going fare rate of the new date will be charged.

I think that might have been about EasyJet and their Flexi fares. I don’t think MSE would have reported such a work around for a Philippine Airlines ticket between two Asian cities.

Two valid reasons already given why this won’t work.

I read it as unlimited free bookings within the travel dates they specify I.E. travel 1st July onward

Ah yes I think it was easyjet flexi fares - I didn't remember it being so specific to one thing but that makes sense.

Anyway, as many have mentioned I've clearly missed something obvious. Thanks all!
