Getting a 'prime' cc?

When you're building a positive history though, and have had a limited or chequered past, the options open to you are more limited until you establish yourself as a good risk. For the moment - I'd say the Barclaycard Forward was the step in the right direction the OP needs - in 12 months if the account is well managed, they can upgrade to the cashback rewards card. Time is a great healer - and eventually more of the 'different features' across cards will certainly become more pertinent. For the moment it's more about being able to get a card in the first placeMrFrugalFever said:podrammu, it seems like you’re very focused on barclaycard purely because you have an account with Barclays, rather than understand a) why you want another CC and b) what you require the CC for and to do.
Each CC will have slightly different features, do your research and don’t be solely focused on the Barclaycard.

The op mentioned having ‘a limited credit history’ rather than a bad credit history - two very different scenarios. There’s nothing wrong with the Barclaycard per se, I just thought it prudent to let the Op know that it’s worth understanding their reasons and requirements to find a CC that suits their needs better.
On a side note, how long has it been since your bankruptcy finished? If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.

Barclaycard Forward is a subprime card, so I'm not sure why you'd apply for it if you wanted a prime card.
That being said there is little point in applying for a prime card simply because it's prime, apply for one that has perks or don't bother.0 -
With limited history you may not be eligible for cards with perks - but the forward can be replaced with the cash back rewards after 12 months of good account management.FeaturelessVoid said:Barclaycard Forward is a subprime card, so I'm not sure why you'd apply for it if you wanted a prime card.

Mine was discharged in 2014 and dropped off the history in 2020...
