Have you asked the vendor what their usage is?

I’m contemplating swapping to LPG once the LPG situation improves, but if I find oil reasonable I may keep it.

Last question…do you have to stick to the same supplier or can you just find the cheapest supplier when you need a fill?

I know little about oil heating over recent years but have had a some experience with LPG.
If you swap to LPG, you will need a) a new boiler (£1½K ?) b) a new tank (£?) and will be dealing in a business run by complete sharks who invent price increases to suit themselves and tie you to a two year contract with no get out.
    Your call. ;)

Just to balance this, I have had bulk LPG for the past 38 years.  Yes, some of the major suppliers (Calor, Flogas, Avanti) do seem to be a law unto themselves and make up the rules as they go along.  I have been with one of them in the past!

I'm now with a local independent (10 years) and they have been the complete opposite.  I currently pay 38ppl, which works out much cheaper per kWh than oil (and mains gas!) at the moment.  I can get a delivery within two weeks whenever I want one.

Oh, and they supply the tank at no charge and I have no contract!

Is the 38ppl on a fixed term contract? That seems an absolute bargain given the recent price movement in all fuel costs.

No, I have no contract, but I am part of our village buying group.  There's about 12 of us in it and we have negotiated the price.
