New Laptop as spare - advice

Hello

I am thinking about getting a new laptop to use just for work purposes so I can keep separation and privacy between my work and personal laptop use.

I am looking for advice please for a laptop which would be good on budget and specs, reliable and robust.  Would like it to have as large a memory capacity as possible. Beyond that no real requirements.  Windows, not Mac.  I don't use it for gaming or anything like that.  Just internet, Email, MS packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and maybe TV steaming.

With a headphone socket and plenty of USB ports.

Would like to keep budget as low/reasonable as possible.

Many thx in advance for any recommendations.

You ok with a second hand laptop?
what screen size do you want?
13-14 inch laptops probably won’t have a numeric keyboard at the right hand side, whilst 15 inch plus one probably will.

Which is it? You can get laptops with 128gb of RAM but that won't be a low as possible price

What spec is your current laptop? Can you add more memory to that?

If so you may want to consider running a virtual machine on the existing laptop for work purposes, keeping that seperation without the need for a second device.

when you say large memory so you mean memory or do you mean storage space?

You only need Pro / bitlocker if you require that level of security.

I'd recommend getting the same brand of latptop so you can share chargers, and even trying to get one with an identical keyboard layout.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

A cheaper / simpler option you may like to consider is a USB drive to store only work related items.

2 different logins to keep work & personal separate. Also set up a Onedrive account for the business side, separate to your personal one (if you use it)
