Imagine getting a message like that contrary to the laws of the land in which they live (no matter where the ships are registered) and then being faced with police ready to arrest anyone who says boo! Those who aren't on board currently have possessions which they have been told they are not allowed to collect so those who are on board are facing criminal charges for taking a stand.
There should be a law against being greedy and the culprits (aka those in charge of P&O) should be thrown in jail or out of the country without the benefit of taking their possessions!
That sounds like communism!
I'm being made redundant but I've been afforded all the niceties of British law and will be getting an above statutory payout when I leave. So while I think my employer is being foolish about it's decision (some bits of which I do understand) at least it's being done with respect and within the law. P&O owners haven't done that with their employees.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Seafrance was undone by stratospheric legacy unionised labour costs and P&O was heading for the same fate without drastic action.

Brexit should mean that all businesses are free to do this, and all of us are free to buy shares in the companies that benefit from a reduction in costs.
According to Johnson, Sunak et al, Brexit was supposed to lead to a 'high wage economy' not to lower wages...0 -

DP World paid £270m dividend to its shareholders.

Their communications to customers was dreadful and they threw all passengers that weren't travelling Dover-Calais under the proverbial bus i.e. this is now your problem to sort out. I had booked Larne-Cairnryan for Sunday 20th and couldn't rebook with Stena Line (Belfast-Cairnryan) until P&O officially cancelled. Its possible that some harsh tweets and reality got them to finally cancel Friday teatime. I rebooked with Stena Line (only £3 more) and P&O called me on Saturday lunchtime and processed the refund over the phone.I have every sympathy with the sacked workers and distain for the senior management. I probably will never sail with them again no matter how cheap.1

I would encourage anybody with a P@O ferry ticket for this year to please watch these short BBC videos.

I haven't purchased anything with P&O ferries but I know for sure I will not buy anything off them. They treat my fellow country people like this, shame on them. They may advertise their fares as cheap but I am not cheap enough to give them business at the expense of people of this country.
I hope others follow suit.I am relationship expert. Don't feel shy, say hello.0
