LPG - Switching suppliers

Hi there, just looking for your thoughts. I moved LPG suppliers about 3 months ago. I have just return from holiday and found that the old supplier had filled my LPG tank up whilst away, but it was for a different account number on the delivery note - not mine. Just thinking about what to do here. The obvious think to do it phone my old supplier and suggest them to bill the rate I am paying my new supplier? or level it till they contact me. Thoughts welcome. Thanks Mike

I would contact them without delay so you take the lead in advising them of their error. I would also ask them to make arrangements to remove the incorrectly delivered LPG within 7 days. My gut feel is that they won't want do do this and may we'll make you an offer to keep it at a price below that of your new supplier. Let them make the opening bid.

How much was in the tank before the delivery and were you planning on a top up soon? If LPG pricing is anything like oil pricing, then chances are prices will fall in the next week's and months. If you don't need LPG now, why pay for their error when the price is high.

Most people on LPG will be in a contract, so they are priced for the two year contract etc.

if there is a different account number chances are the driver has made a mistake (this happens more often than it should!).

Contact the company and ask them to Evacuate the LPG from the tank and make sure you give them the account details on the delivery note as potentially this customer is now without a gas delivery they need / being charged for gas you’ve been given.

If you want to keep the gas though, ask for a good discount!

Just to be clear: "I moved LPG suppliers about 3 months ago." There is no doubt about ths? You were out of contract with old supplier yes? And informed them in writing? Got confirmation?
Has the new supplier provided any gas since the switch?
What about the tank? I'm no expert on LPG but understand the tank is rented from the supplier - is that the case here or has the new supplier taken over the tank?
Other than that, good advice by others above!
