They're not "completely other things"; a debit card is also a Cashpoint Card. Indeed I'm pretty sure Lloyds TSB cards were marked as such?terryjerryz said:
Thank you so much, dcs34! It calms me down and now I can sleep good tonightdcs34 said:I had the same email and logged in. Got a message to say my debit card was due to expire soon (May 22), however as hadn't been used in the last year they won't send me another one unless I requested it.
However it's weird that they mention in the subject the Cashpoint Cards and in the message write about Debit Card - these are two completely other things. I just would like to ask you one question: if you have set up your correspondence for paperless (which I suppose due to the fact that you received this e-mail), do they send you any standard letters per post? I'm wondering if within a few last years when I'm not in the UK they sent anything to my old flat. Thank you in advance
Legacy current accounts could have a Cashpoint card. Account holders could have their Debit card downgraded to a Cashpoint card also.I disagree. By your logic a Tesco Clubcard Pay+ debit card would not be a Clubcard.0 -
"Cashpoint" is a registered trademark belonging to Lloyds. Over the years it has slapped the name on lots of things.0

We had the same message from Halifax recently - perhaps they are related banks? Or just that the banking industry in general is trying to cut costs as much as possible?dcs34 said:I had the same email and logged in. But it is a Clubcard. You can present and use it as a Clubcard in any application that might require one (including some unrelated to payment, e.g. Scan as you Shop handset release). It also functions as a debit card.Deleted_User said:

In exactly the same way any machine which demands a Cashpoint Card (not a debit card, e.g. automated deposit machines) will accept a Lloyds Bank Debit Card. It is a Cashpoint card, and until a few years ago they were even physically branded as such:

I think Lloyds have history for sending out erroneous blanket messages which aren't relevant to all customers . I kept getting letters (despite being paperless) telling me that I hadn't looked at my account recently. It wasn't true but some computer somewhere was set up to generate the messages. ☹️0

No, a Cashpoint card is just that. If a employee orders one, a debit card does not get generated and arrive at the customer address.WillPS said:

The above is a defunct Electron debit card not a Cashpoint card.

Despite showing Cashpoint branding and allowing full Cashpoint functionality (when it was valid)?Deleted_User said:

I'm content with the statement that Lloyds Debit Cards are Cashpoint cards (as well as the non-debit card Cashpoint Cards they offer) in exactly the same way that Tesco Bank debit and credit cards are Clubcards and before they were axed Costco Amex cards were Costco membership cards.1 -
I repeat that a Cashpoint card is a separate product than a Debit card....
