Solar panel quote

Bendy_House said:At least the Hybrid inverter will (should) allow the addition of batteries at the later stage, but it's still far too expensive for not having batteries included.Clive, please phone/email the Hammonds at SolarCity - I give you my word that these guys are spot-on, genuinely believe in what they do, are very experienced & knowledgable, completely honest, and just delightful folk all 'round! And their quote for my PV was very competitive. They will advise, even if they cannot travel to wherever you are. They should be able to give you a good ballpark costing, and suggest a good setup to go for.
Have you got an email address? I can't seem to find it on their website.

Thanks, think getting a battery makes sense now, but probably less than 14 panels, probably 10 or 12. Optimisers not needed as roof not in the shade.Bendy_House said:At least the Hybrid inverter will (should) allow the addition of batteries at the later stage, but it's still far too expensive for not having batteries included.Clive, please phone/email the Hammonds at SolarCity - I give you my word that these guys are spot-on, genuinely believe in what they do, are very experienced & knowledgable, completely honest, and just delightful folk all 'round! Not sure those guya are going to come down to Sussex. I grew up in the Brum area but now down south. They came to Devon :-)If they are still doing PV, then I'm sure they'd at least give you a straight answer to "What is the most cost-effective setup given the following...", something to guide you by.0 -

Have you got an email address? I can't seem to find it on their website.info@solarcityuk.co.uk or davidhammond@solarcityuk.co.ukI see they have a new website, but it doesn't seem very comprehensive, so they may have stopped doing PV now - I'm going back 12+ years. :-(

The companies details that are being given out here or literally two guys that’s it there’s no installation team it’s just them. Just to manage people‘s expectations as to whether or not they will be able to help you.0

Thanks to all who have given advice so farWe now have a new quote that includes an 8.2kwh battery. The brand is Givenergy who seem to get decent reviews. Has anyone here bought a setup with this brand of battery or know anything about them?We are looking at 14 panels, an iBoost for hot water and the 8.2kwh battery. We are at home all day and cooking in the evening is done using electric hob and oven.Any thoughts very welcome."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0

That GivEnergy 8.2 kWh battery has been discontinued now. Being replaced with an updated 9.5 kWh model, but not yet available. Might be that the installer has a few in stock to get rid of, but as far as I know they can't be ordered any more. https://midsummerwholesale.co.uk/buy/giv-energy/giv-batt-8300Clive_Woody said:Thanks to all who have given advice so farWe now have a new quote that includes an 8.2kwh battery. GivEnergy are a good range, but you would need to wait until the latest models are released.1 -
We had initially considered the 5.2kwh version but thought the larger capacity would make sense and was only a few hundred more and made more sense than adding a second battery later on. They do have the battery in stock and are a local company.ComicGeek said:

I would do it if the price is right. Have only heard good feedback on GivEnergy.Clive_Woody said:

Have they mentioned the G99 application yet?1 -
Yes they will complete the application and something about an MCS certificate too.ComicGeek said:
