In September last year I booked a package holiday with TUI to Orlando including flights, accommodation and shuttle transfers from the accommodation to the theme parks.
This weekend I’ve received an email from TUI advising that due to Covid (standard excuse) the accommodation no longer offer a free shuttle.
I now will incur considerable costs in taxis or buses to and from the theme parks each day. I specifically chose this hotel as I needed self catering and transport but now the transport isn’t included.
What are my rights? I would have thought TUI should at least offer to move my accommodation or if that wasn’t possible to give me some form of compensation, even as a gesture? I’ve been on the phone for TUI for hours this morning and no response yet. When I look at Forums online there are literally hundreds of people all commenting they can’t get through to TUI.
Do you know the cost of the bus between your hotel and the theme park? It might be an absolutely trivial amount. Otherwise, try writing to them asking for the cost of transport.
Which hotel is it? Depending on the hotel and location there will be a variety of options. The I-Ride Trolley serves up, down and along the I-Drive corridor with options to Universal and SeaWorld.
Lynx buses serve other areas.
Uber is another great option and quite affordable when out there.
I would certainly be seeking some form of recompense for a service which was part of the package and has now been removed. Having to pay for transfer between hotel and theme park for a family could add a substantial amount to the cost of the holiday.
