There was another bus waiting at the airport too which was about 6 euros, I think you just paid as you got on that one

I used this for our Rome trip last September, good service but be warned...they squeeze as much luggage as they can in the coach so make sure you take a strong suitcase! (and also get a window seat to keep an eye on your luggage to be on the safe side!!). We got dropped off at the Termini then took a taxi (hotel was only about 10 mins walk but had luggage). Make sure if you get a taxi you get an official licensed one.0 -
Hi
We "did" Rome in April. The week between the Pope dying and the selection !, wasnt planned that way.
My best advice is to buy the Lonely Planet Guide to Rome. It was fantastic for little back street pizza places. We had a fantastic meal for 4 with wine and extras for 40 euro. Often restaurants only open at night and those that are open all day often only light their pizza ovens at night.
We did most of the tourist bits, but couldnt "do" the sistine chapel. Would greatly recommend going to the top of St Peters Dome for a fantastic view of the city (not for the claustrophobic, steps are very confined !!), go early for this.
Taxi fare to ciampino was haggled to 40 euro, we stayed near the Trevi. We were robbed by the taxi on the way there 70euro !!!!.
Also find your local Spar shop for your cheap booze, amazing value.0
