I use Nescafe granules. They changed the formula for it about four years ago and then again last year - I've not noticed a different taste. But there IS a different taste if you've ever bought those refill packets as opposed to jars. I'm tempted to try Douwe Egberts now though, after the glowing endorsements in this thread. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. Another vote for Lidl's own brand or Morrison's Gold Blend (£2.99) if I can't get to Lidl. I use a large cappuccino mug so have 2 heaped spoonfuls of coffee each time.
"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.1 -
I also like Douwe Egberts, but Nescafe Gold Alta Rica is my favourite. I won't pay full price for it, but it's regularly on offer in the main supermarkets and sometimes as a special in Lidl.0

Are you sure they've changed recipe and you've not just bought from Iceland farm foods etc? Nescafe confirmed to me they sell foreign versions in some stores which is why they're cheaper but taste nothing like our proper coffee1

Douwe Egberts Gold (it is strength 3/5) and the Decaf (strength 3) - I drink this in favour of the fresh ground coffee available for free at work, because DE Gold is so good!
You can often find it cheaper than full price at one supermarket or other if you shop around. I get a big jar, so it's cheaper and gives me time to find where it's going cheap before I run out. Decent jar too, so keeps very well.1 -
