Sounds like you have a nice vibrant and colourful home .Regarding the wallpaper stripping , I used a steamer in the past and a spatula( scraper ) .
There were bits of filling to do , and I purchased a small orbital sander to smooth over using goggles of course . Thankfully I didn't need lining paper, and am a coward when it comes to wallpapering . Just not brave / confident enough .
