How do I find an up to date address for customer service please?
I've been paying the bill on time from the same bank for 40yrs and now is the 3rd time the say I haven't paid.
It was only 2 weeks from arrival of the bill and was paid 2 days later when the bank opened.
Now they are treatening selling the debt to debt collectors.
I did the online chat (took 40mins to get through) and was told the matter was corrected.
Obviously not. I tried ringing but there's an hours wait. I'm on PAYG so would be £5
I can find an address in Rotherham which I can't confirm and feel sending a letter, bill copy etc would cover me and put the ball in their court quicker than all this pfaffing about.
I wanted to move suppliers the second time it happened but I'm on a good price but would be worth more for my sanity and not worrying about a lifetimes good credit going down the swanney.
Help would be greatly appreciated.

Switching to Monthly Variable Direct Debit will solve the problem as well as being cheaper.

Thank you Gerry, but that is a whole other question and won't solve my current dilemma  :)

Is there an address printed on your bill? Maybe on the back of it?
    Something like this:

    N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile. Ripple Kirk Hill member.
    2.72kWp PV facing SSW installed Jan 2012. 11 x 247w panels, 3.6kw inverter. 33MWh generated, long-term average 2.6 Os.

What did the bill say about when it needed to be paid? My hunch is this was sooner than you paid...

Nothing about when it should paid.
No address, nothing like Qrizs but thanks a lot for that. It's great. I'm thinking complaints is the way to go.
I'll try all the freephone  numbers and double up.
I would have moved before but the other major player I chose their phone line cut me off and the online chatt didn't work!
It could drive you to drink :s

Thank you Fryedlyce, no way am I emailing or phoning.
It just goes into the ether.
But the address is confirmation of the above. Hard copy is harder to ignore. I persued a major holiday company with letters until the file was so big it got noticed by the Manager :D
The only one to get a decent recompense though it took as long as to make a baby.

Call the number and when the automated voice asks how to help, say complaint. I was put through to someone within 1 minute. I spoke to someone in the UK who was very helpful when I had a problem with the home care. The chat is next to useless at helping you with a problem.

    That's surprising.

Googling to try to find any info. on how quickly BG ask for bills to be paid I did find that it looks like it would be possible for you to pay either online or over the phone, which might be easier options rather than waiting until you can visit a physical bank branch?

Ultrasonic it takes me 5mins to go to the bank.
And then I have a paper trail countersigned by the bank for times like this which puts the onus on them to find the payment. It takes 2mins to locate in file.
Up to 20 to go online banking, and, it seems over an hour on the phone and then it's up to me to prove as there's no record.
My problem is with their system not working correctly.
Upzee, lol, I'll be doing that. I used to use the freephone numbers to get through to all sorts of depts with companies. Much quicker and free.
