Cancelling sky due to price increases?

I'm in contract with sky until march 2023 with sky q multi room, entertainment and sports

Am I able to cancel penalty free due to the price increases as it's an unnecessary expense we don't use fully? 

I have only been a customer for 6 months

If you have a contract it is normal to have to pay to end it before time. The annual price increase is built into the contract and does not give you carte blanche to cancel without penalty. you can always ring and ask but be prepared for disappointment.

Most contracts taken out in the last couple of years have a clause which allows for cost of living increases within the contract period. You really need to look at the contract that was in force at the time you signed up and check what it covers but it's unlikely that you'll get away without a termination fee which would likely be the cost of the remaining contract.

No.  You agreed to price increases - once every 12 months of up to 10% - when you re-contracted.  Its not a new thing.  See your T&Cs.

If you don't use it "fully" (whatever that means) it probably wasn't a wise idea to take a new contract out six months ago.
