Hi,
I have recently been approached by cold call for a company called 'Boilers Made Simple', after arranging an appointment and a house visit, I am unsure wether to take up their offer.
Basically, it's fitting of a new eco boiler (93% efficient), flushing of the system (worth £500), fitting of a magnet descaler, limescale and a new Hive system.
There are no up front costs, but the promise they will save you around 45% on your gas bills. The saving you make you pay towards the system / fit etc.
So, if your bills were £100, you'd still pay £100, but now only £50 on your bill and £50 towards the boiler system.
I said it sounds too good to be true! I had no hard sales to deal with, just the information, if I was interested then sign up, if not, no problem.
The following day, I messaged the company and the sales director called me to answer further questions. Once again, no hard sell, just information.
My other concern is the company don't have any online reviews... absolutely nothing.
If you have any experience to offer on this deal, please let me know.
Any advice appreciated.
Many Thanks

How long do you have to pay far more than the gas bill? A year, ten years, the rest of your life? What if gas bills quadruple, do your over payments quadruple as well? What happens if the savings turn out to be only 10%?What happens if you move house?Time you were on the TPS List !3

Be very careful, they have a Facebook page and a web site, both without any reviews or comments. The website shows the company as 'Taggas Ltd.' and states they are a registered credit broker.Somewhere in this scheme there will be a credit agreement requiring you to pay for the boiler, and their claims of being able to do that from savings on your gas bill in the current climate are frankly ludicrous. They may or may not provide a good service in terms of fitting the boiler and associated work, but you'll have to judge that against the cost that you will be signing up to repay, and no, you will not be able to reduce your gas bill from its current level to cover the payments, as the cost of gas is set to nearly double in the short term...4

I'd avoid like the plague. Their website is devoid of any detail. Maybe like the leased solar panel offers that you don't own. Plus if you own your own home and want to sell, could be a nightmare.2

If somebody cold calls you, the deal offered will be to their advantage, not yours.

You can pay of more than you save to reduce the time if you decide.
If gas payments quadruple, you'd still be paying the same if you were on a normal boiler, therefore they describe this way, your paying the same, but getting the boiler too.
If the savings are seen to be only 10%, they won't take on the deal.
The deal is with the boiler, and not myself.
Hope that maybe clears a few extra queries.

He said he would get a previous caller to ring me, I said he'd be better off getting that person to leave a review.
Taggas is the holding company, which was not deemed a good name for the scheme.
Yes, the price of inflation with gas does seem to make it less possible.
I would like to see the actual contract you actually have to sign, that might reveal more detailed information.

I very rarely answer or leave swiftly with cold callers.

So, if your bills were £100, you'd still pay £100, but now only £50 on your bill and £50 towards the boiler system.
So you are still using £100 with of energy but only paying half of that to the energy company? Who pays the other half? BMS? And who then is paying for the boiler?
And if your costs go up because the price of energy goes up so you're being charged £150 who is paying for the increase?
I suspect I have misunderstood something but it does seem a bit too good to be true

And yes, who is the deal with. me or the boiler.
Starting to sound even more odd!0
