Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark - dry underfoot - rain but cool day forecast.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and brekkie whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was HM shepherds pie, all eaten and enjoyed, used up the LO veg and yorkshires from Sunday's roast - not sure what we'll be having tonight but will find something.
Last day of my working week hoping I've not been left with a mess - and that the forward planning for today has been done by the last person - which I think may not have been done so I'll be left with that to sort when I get in, but it's my early finish so at least I'll be getting out at a reasonable time.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
The rain yesterday was epic, the roads were flooded and it didn't let up all evening. Seems to be dry for now but it seems that spring has again left us.
Washing can wait until tonight and I'll have a dust and hoover round too.
I ordered a greenhouse last night, I've been threatening to do it since last year. A bit more expensive than I had first thought but I think it will be worth it. I now have to sort out a base for the shed as that will have to move but I think I've seen what I want to get. Such decisions!
Hope everyone is well and has a happy Thursday. Take care. XX16 -
Morning folks and thanks for starting us off nmlc.Nelski - I hope you got a good result from your cleaner.Scarlet - how was your anniversary meal?Bella - I use a lightweight backpack, one I have is a red nylon Ikea bag and another is made of canvas.Poppy - good to see you managed to post again.DP1 - did your Dad enjoy his birthday treat? Your bench sounds a real bargain, well done.Coxy - Cyprus sounds lovely, glad you're relaxing.NRA - hope you're doing OK at this tough time.Snoozer - are you over your bout of sickness?Florence - I hope your OH is feeling better, knee and ears!Sunfl0w3r - good finds!Yesterday afternoon I made a huge pot of lentil soup which'll last me a few days, I add in a frankfurter when reheating it so it makes a good meal each time. After that I didn't do too much as I was tired from the travelling. The car dealer phoned yesterday afternoon, they have my new car 😀 and now need to do the admin bits and pieces so it'll be ready on Monday. Now that's made think of Taff, I really hope you can get your car back very soon, it's all dragged out for far too long. All the documents I brought back from Berlin will have to be scanned, I want to retain the information and also give my cousin a copy of it all. All the letters were to / from our grandmother so important for him too. It'll be a task and a half so I'll portion up the papers to break up the time spent sitting down.My gardener has been busy in my back garden whilst I was away, the long wet grass has been cut and edged and old plants cleared, everything looks so neat again.Today I'll have to go out for fresh milk and fuel before knuckling down.My thoughts are with our poorlies. Morning all
Dry here but feels very cold this morning, off to work for me and its the three young lads today always good fun if shattering, last week I promised them all a go on the wii machine if they got all the work done, it worked a treat so I might try that again today.
Ended up having a fish finger SW and a few chips last night so will do the noodle dish tonight. DW needs empying this morning but not enough washing to go on.
Bella and everyone else please dont appologise for standing up for whats right and good, I would have done the same if I was able to get on, if we cant help our fellow humans then there is not much hope for anyone xxx
Last working day of the week for me so I am very much looking forward to a later start tomorrow.
Have good days all xx15 -
Good morning, and thanks for starting NMLC.It's a lovely morning here.Glad your cleaner is coming back Nels, did you threaten her or what?Thank you very much indeed all you lovely people for the good wishes for our anniversary, so kind of everyone, We had nice lunch with a couple of glasses of wine each, then a wander round. Durham is only a 20 minute bus ride away and we hardly ever go there.I started to nod off on the bus home, what a lightweight! I'm not used to drinking during the day, and a big meal at lunchtime!!Jackie O, it was great to read about your memories of the area, I hadn't realised you'd visited. It's not too "grim up North" is it.We holidayed in Kent a few years ago when we had the motor home and visited some lovely places. We went to a vineyard I remember, and bought some pretty good wine, It truly is the Garden of England.I hadn't known there was some unpleasantness yesterday, but good for you Bella. This is a lovely, friendly thread and we want to keep it that way.Pleased you're home Gers, Happy Birthday for yesterday. Sounds as if you've had a good time.Dgs will be here today as usual, he'll keep us on the go.Thinking of Mr F and Mr Izzy with their leg problems, and Mr F's ear trouble. Hope they're both feeling better. Also thoughts to NRA and dad.Hope everyone has a good day, despite everything that's going on in the world.Take care folks16

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. It's looking bright outside and the sun is getting through so hope it lasts. Still nippy though.
Change of plan yesterday, the sort out of clothes for Homeless not Hopeless never got done as DD had a drama (it's one after another for her!) Her boiler packed in and the plumber decreed it terminal. So she had a few plumbers in for quotes throughout the day. She has settled on the one who installed the bathroom on the previous house I think. I hope he can do it quickly it's not the weather to be without heating.
I joined the ranks of the other mountaineers yesterday and climbed on the draining board to clean the mucky kitchen window. More windows need doing so maybe today once I have cleaned the kitchen and bathroom.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies and poorly OH's, Now I have got the gist of the drama I missed on Tuesday I am in total agreement with all your follow up comments and well said BELLA, nothing to apologise for. Take care one and all and be safe and kind to others xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"15 -
Hi everyone,
Thanks for asking Gers, the sickness was migraine related so short-lived. It always strikes me as unfair that the worst headache ever makes you vomit and that makes you feel as if your head is about to explode!
You're all making me feel guilty about my kitchen windows, one of my least favourite jobs. I refused to have a sink under the one overlooking the garden because, as I told the "designer" I don't spend that much time washing up. I spend far more time on food prep so now I have a lovely long unbroken worktop under the window, I can just about reach all of it to clean standing on a step-stool but I don't do it often enough.
Laura and Esben went home last night and Steve has gone off to play golf so I have a lovely peaceful house and I'm going to make the most of it. I shall not be doing any housework.
Have a good day.15 -

Morning
How exciting Gers a new car
Cleaner came and did a good job. Going forward I cant rely on her arriving on a particular day/time which is a pain but she did say she would text in good time if someone cancels or there’s an available slot. Bit annoying but she’s my only choice atm. Scarlett lol no I nearly did when the first message came but in the end I went for a creepy one! More importantly my cant do jobs are done and the bedding was lovely last night.
Busy one today booster vaccination at some point, Asda delivery and loads of calls.
Food last night was curry and a garlic naan. Tonight I have some chicken casserole leeks cabbage and roast pots.
Have a good day all
