I agree that 22C is unnecessarily warm for most people.  Our main living space reaches a maximum of 20C before the thermostat in the hallway clicks off at 18C, and that's warm enough for normal clothing.  In the era of increasingly expensive gas, we can turn it down a degree or two and have legs under a thin blanket, or wear a thicker jumper, etc.

When you moved into the flat last year in April did you take a meter reading? The first line of the readings you published says estimated, is this reading correct?

Also where did you get the figures you posted? In line two it states for the 16th of April 1836.9, and a month later on the 15th of May is 1597.0 so a lot lower.

For the second of February it shows 2 readings 8141 and 7453 meaning you used almost 700 Kw that day...

I never took the first reading, the letting agency did that.

I’m very much in doubt these figures are accurate. These figures are the smart meter readings provided from EON on my account summary as you say how on earth we have two figures for the same day?!

    Many Thanks for the contribution.

Have you never taken your own readings, to check you're being billed correctly?

Nope I don’t have personal access to the cupboard in which all the smart meters are kept.

I have to ask my letting agency, letting agency then asks the building owners, and then I get photos from the person who has the only access key to the smart meter cupboard.

    Many Thanks

Isn't there an in-home display that 'talks' to the smart meter in the cupboard to show usage?

Edit: possibly the flat is too far away I suppose.

How can it be new if its a D on the EPC, is it a conversion or just refurbished?

We’re going to try and get a IHD ASAP but unsure if EON can provide?

Our flat is ground floor so not too far from the smart meter cupboard.

    Many Thanks!

It’s a new build and unfortunately is a D EPC.

Insist on gaining access to the meter, supervised if necessary, so that you can do the Meter Sanity Test.
It was also a mistake to let the letting agent take the opening reading for you.  You could have paid for the use of the previous occupant or a void period.

Wow, I really thought new builds had to meed at least a C !

"The UK government has set a target that all social homes in England should be upgraded to minimum EPC band C rating by 2030, however no targets have yet been set for new build properties. "
