With FB I've had a free bike, bar stool, easy chair and cube unit... I've also paid for stuff. Definitely worth persevering.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Cheery, because I’m self employed and don’t get the £1000 ‘digital earnings’ allowance or whatever it’s called, I have to draw up an invoice for prolific as it goes through my accounts - way too much faff to be doing for every fiver, especially as I don’t see the full amount in the end due to tax/NI…. It makes it all very boring unfortunately - I’d much rather withdraw and have more cash to play with throughout the month!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Ah, yes I can see that would be annoying! Also annoying that you don't get the allowance!3

Afternoon all,
It is indeed very annyoing Cheery, but self-employment has its perks (although lack of work is not one of them!).
Had another appalling night's sleep last night - head wouldn't stop, couldn't get comfortable blah blah blah. Had to take Mr MV to the station for a 7am train, then went to allotment to water and collect butternut left by allotment friend in exchange for kale (picked the last few plums too and picked some blackberries and a couple of windfall apples). Then fed cats and breakfasted and went back to bed for a bit. Have a headache and feel rubbish. However, have had Cambridge meeting and also have been given another task by Cambridge boss/friend, so that'll keep me busy this afternoon (when I'd like to be asleep, given I've got Olio to contend with later).
Have done a little actual work job and a platform job too. Lunch will be rest of bulgur wheat salad. Dinner may be whatever I pick up from Tesco later. Mr MV is away tonight with work, so at least I won't be disturbing him with late night collectors banging the gate. As he's away I'll be able to sleep on the lovely firm bit of mattress in the middle, so may actually manage to sleep tonight! (I hope so, looking after Niece tomorrow!).

Thanks @savingholmes, it definitely will - September is always a busy month as one of my main biannual projects comes in thick and fast then. And I expect other things will too as everyone settles back down to work. And I'm cat sitting! And we've got builders in, and there'll be allotment stuff to deal with... September is going to be fun! Quite pleased to have submitted my timesheet for Cambridge work (deadline is early because of the BH, but friend is also OOO so needed to get it in earlier still) - that will be paid 1 September, so in time to boost this month's pay.
PA survey just done too.
Headache has eased and will go for a short walk soon as one of my cat clients has a thank-you present for me as I did her a favour - totally unnecessary, but very nice!
I need to clean and tidy the kitchen, which is a total state, before Olio. This might involve making some plum jam!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

All sounds lovely. Have you considered trying cordial or using a large Kilner clip top jar with vodka, plums and sugar to make HM liqueur? - I have just made a crabapple cordial and it is very apple-y!Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Morning all,
It's very soggy here this morning - hooray! (Although plans to meet friends in park with children have been scuppered!)
@Suffolk_lass I didn't consider it for the plums, no, but I have several bottles of rhubarb and ginger vodka, for gifting and consumption, so probably best not to make more alcoholic drink at the moment. If my blackcurrant crop is bigger next year I'll have a go at making blackcurrant cordial though. It didn't occur to me to make plum cordial! The plums have been stewed/reduced ready for the jamming later though now - it didn't get done last night.
Cat client very kindly gave me a box of choccies and a candle, very unnecessary (all I did extra was lock her car for her!) but much appreciated.
Olio collection was small last night, which was a huge relief, both because I was so tired and because the kitchen was full of dirty glassware, as shortly before going to collect I discovered that two of the cans of beer Tesco had given me last week (and we'd kept) had exploded in the sideboard, resulting in a lot of mopping up of carpet and lovely wooden sideboard! Now we know why they were being given away! Third can is in garden unexploded but blown IYSWIM and 4th can was the one Mr MV drank (which caused him not to feel well!). Did keep two punnets of strawbs from collection and pastries - will take strawbs and pastry for niece today (I'm collecting her from swimming lesson shortly). As park plans are out, we're picknicking at a friend's and then meeting another friend for a bakery treat and library session. I hope Niece is up to a busy day though as she's been quite tired lately.
No wins on HW this morning, clicks done though and half an hour of Cambridge work. Have been paid by them for earlier in the month, which was a nice boost to the coffers.
Gratitudes:
* Good night's sleep courtesy of the middle of the mattress!
* Rain, glorious rain!
* Forecast is still good for Saturday's BBQ!

Ouch to the exploding beer. Not what you want on your nice stuff. Can't abide the smell or the stickiness.
Hope you have a good weekend. Good you got the invoice in.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
