Morning all,
Slept terribly last night (again). Would just love to wake up with energy!
Today is going to be fairly work focused. I have two bits to get finished for my main client, but also need to discuss issues with Cambridge contact and this afternoon I have my 121 with boss/friend. Aside from that, I need to get to the allotment (ideally to plant the seedlings bought yesterday, but I'll have to see how I get on). Lunch will be a hummus sandwich. Dinner might be sada pulao, if we have enough white rice (not sure it would work with brown as you soak the rice for a couple of hours to 'part-cook' it - I suppose I could just mostly cook the brown rice?).
Supermarket delivery has been, food put away and S&S barcodes submitted. The cats were very excited as their new tub of fishy treats had arrived - they are quite smelly, so B&W cat was straight into the bag to find them.
MS things:
* Lots of bits in delivery were on offer, plus discount
* Clicks and HW done - not far off another £5 M&S (or other) voucher with MS Rewards
* Dinner used hg chard, spinach and garlic
* Collected my extra day's cat-sitting money (and promptly spent some of it on allotment plants!)
Gratitudes:
* Lovely to see mum yesterday - and she's appreciative of her chard - it's in a vase currently!
* A grey wagtail visited our wildlife pondWe occasionally get them in the back garden, but this is the first exotic bit of wildlife we've seen in our new wildlife garden - normally it's pigeons and the occasional magpie (very few songbirds, but sparros and starlings on the feeders sometimes).
* Just heard back from the place I've booked Mr MV a blacksmithing taster course for Friday - hadn't heard anything at all, but it sounds like it's a technical problem. In any case, glad I messaged as the start time is an hour earlier than expected!

Oh good grief - this so confirms that MrEH and MrMV have the same sense of humour! Good call on the saving too - £1.20 a month is after all worth having!themadvix said:
Thanks EH! Not quite as much going on - main client has sent me some bits so I'm cracking on with those. Not going to market town later, but may still pop to garden centre - in which case I'll take the car and return key at same time, so a bit simpler. (Technically I could cycle to the garden centre, but I'd rather prioritise getting work done today, I think.)EssexHebridean said:Wow you have got a lot going on - and that cabbage - quite right that you were impressed with yourself!
ETA: remembered another MS thing - I recently switched to Smarty for mobile, and now we are both with them, we can combine our bills and save 10%, so Mr MV set that up yesterday - only saves £1.20/month, but it's £1.20 a month!
I asked him to send me an email to remind me to sort sending the money over to him - he sent me the following:
Dear MV,Please could you arrange to establish a monthly transfer of funds for the balance of £5.40 on or around the 10th of the month in order to settle your account.Kind regards,Mr MV Telecoms
Not entirely what I meant! 😂
Magnesium is something that's often recommended for Restless Leg Syndrome too - I keep meaning to try it but as it also tends to come with caution warnings around digestive upset as a side effect I've been a little wary so far. Might see if the supermarket have it at a sensible price at some stage though.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hmm... looking at sources of magnesium - leafy greens, dairy, nuts - I definitely shouldn't be needing to take a supplement for it. Interestingly though, we ran out of nuts a couple of weeks ago and this has possibly coincided with worsening sleep, so I'm going make sure I get my intake today (as per the Med diet) and see if that helps tonight. Nuts are nicer than supplements!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I spent most of the past year on a liquid diet after years of incredibly healthy eating, but am now a convert to temporary supplementation to help with health issues!

I’ve been taking magnesium since last year too, it’s helping with slightly achy legs at night and I think tiredness a bit too 🙂MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁4

Morning all,
Thanks for your input NG. I'll think about it and maybe give it a try - but the one thing I think I do quite well is a very healthy diet!
Have done a fair bit of Cambridge work this morning (IT issues still not resolved though) and am now onto work for main client. Have also done various bits of housework that really needed doing (cleaning the hall floor). Partly this is because I have the Freegle lady coming to teach me my new role later, but mostly because it really needed doing! Sun is out now and battery charging, so I've just put the dishwasher on. Could do with doing some washing too really, as we won't want it in the way at the weekend when we are patio-ing (whirlybird is next to the patio). Mr MV is out for a work dinner thing tonight, so I dropped him at the station and will pick him up at some ungodly hour tonight. Tried to collect a Vinted parcel from shop on way back from station this morning but apparently needed a collection code that I hadn't been sent - really irritating. I've web chatted Yodel and now got the code, but will have to go back later... and I'm now getting nag messages from Vinted. Not overly impressed.
Did well at the allotment yesterday - one bed is now half cleared (the other half still holds the BNS plant) and compost spread, so I'll take the leeks up there later and get them in. Another small patch (behind the cabbages) is ready for compost, so I'll do that later too and maybe get the garlic in there. Saw allotment friend last night - he's prepping for winter with digging (glad I don't do that!) and then covering beds.... I was quite surprised he wasn't planting more, but he's got other stuff going on, so maybe figured it was easier this way.
MS things:
* Clicks and HW done
* Made some rye crackers last night - helpful as somehow I'd managed to order rye flour when I'd already got a whole bag in the cupboard!
* Allotment progress - just need to keep on top of it
Gratitudes:
* Enjoyed myself at the allotment - it's very therapeutic when I actually get there and can immerse myself in it (and The Good Life in my ears helps too)
* That I've not heard back from IT support yet - I know I'll have to do stuff when I do hear from them, although that will still only solve one of the problems I have
* Mr MV was at an event at Apple HQ in London on Tuesday... he brought me Apple swag back - a beautiful green apple from the fruit basket! 😂 (Was very impressed with their office - a/c only for 'emergency', but built in natural ventilation and windows that open, a lovely sky garden for the staff (and bees?) - it sounded pretty good).
I have a horrible feeling I'm coming down with a cold. But I have had some blackberry vinegar and a clove of garlic and am hoping to stave it off... Day off tomorrow and I'd really rather I was able to enjoy it.
