Solar Panels

Hi Team
We have solar panels and we feed in to the tariff. The amount is around 5p per unit! How can we get more from the tariff? It seems unfair that companies can put their charges up but we can't!
Keep up the good work.
Regards

Switch your electricity supply to Octopus, then opt out of deemed export and move to metered export.Octopus offer two rates; Outgoing Fixed at 7.5p/kWh ot Outgoing Agile at a variable rate that tracks wholesale prices but is currently around 30p/kWh.N. When you signed up for your FIT tariff you agreed terms and conditions which limited the deemed export payments to an increase annually of RPI. Yes you could go through the process of moving to SEG for all your exports but it will require a smart meter; MCS or other approved certification (Octopus only accepts MCS) and DNO approval for your installation. Sadly, not all FIT installations were notified to DNOs.GWPG said:Hi TeamWe have solar panels and we feed in to the tariff. The amount is around 5p per unit! How can we get more from the tariff? Armed with this information, the supplier will apply to your DNO for an Export MPAN. You will then get paid SEG at 7.5p/kWh if you are an Octopus customer or 4.1p/kWh if you are on one of Octopus’ smart tariffs or a non Octopus customer.
Is all the hassle worth it? Only you know how much electricity your system exports.0
