To install Malwarebytes free without the Premium Trial…
- Download Malwarebytes from https://ninite.com/malwarebytes/
- Once installed go into Settings (gear wheel top right hand corner)
- Click on Accounts
- Under the Licence Key heading select Deactivate

That link installs a third party's application management system on your PC, at least that's what it says it does, I've never heard of it/them.
Should this post be flagged up as spam? Anyone willing to click'n'install and let us know if it's benign (I'm not).0 -
Ninite has been around for years and used by many who regularly build systems to enable the mass install of applications.

Perhaps if you had posted that "This well-regarded application management system will, if you install it, allow you to have the free Malwarebytes program with scanning"..400ixl said:

My original post did explain the reason for installing Malwarebytes with Ninite.
This thread is about problems with the Free/Premium versions of Malwarebytes not how it interacts with other a/v programmes.
Rather than go off topic, there is already a load of information on the Forum on this subject, or you could open a new thread.0 -

I always do manual scans, but that doesn't seem to be an option now. I can't understand what has happened. It usually updates okay.It really just sounds like it is telling you that real time protection costs money.MWB is pretty much 99.9% gettign to bea PUP itrself these days with the heavy sell. Can you do a scan. I expect so so job done.
Would like to try re-installing the free version, which is the best site to download it from? There used to be one that was recommended on here, but I can't remember what it is called.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
Just installed it on my Windows 7 and got 15 days free trial. I just run one scan and don't like this AV to be honest.
