If the cost is £100,000 to connect up six houses then it really doesn't sound viable at all and i don't think you should be anywhere near a priority. Yes you may recieve slow internet over copper but you do have other options (such as Starlink) and at the end of day you chose to move there.

Always amazing how people choose to purchase properties in rural areas and then expect the same access to services as people living in major conurbations.2

We have rural areas in England too. My family less than a mile away get 900 mbps, I get 2mbps... I knew this when I moved here and am happily using 4g broadband (and at a comparable price to standard FTTC). Alternatives are available - it's not practical to run a cable to / near every house in the UK.1

Whoah! there are many people living in rural areas who haven't just moved there, they and their forefathers have lived there for..... well forever. Also sadly BB of a decent speed is becoming a necessity not really a choice even the Government consider it to be a utility similar to electricity. Government are increasingly insisting that every thing is to be digital, VAT returns already are, Income Tax Returns inc for the self-employed are next. Many rural business's struggle to manage with the speeds on offer because of the insistence that everything has to be done online. I would be happy for my speeds to be lowly but for what business is expected to do on-line I've had to pay for fixed wireless broadband something my gaming kids are over the moon about. Some business are tied to their location as are some people. It is practical to lay cables to almost every house, though it won't be necessarily be economically viable to do so for the internet providers hence the schemes that the Scottish Government are rolling out. You also don't have to be particularly rural to get poor speeds, but the digital divide is greatest between town and country.
Other countries have had a different approach to rolling out fast broadband; insisting that the rural areas are serviced first before companies are allowed to move into the more densely populated hence lucrative areas; hence their rural areas are better served. My beef with the Scottish Government Schemes are that they over promise and under deliver and the info provided about when or if faster speeds might be available are inaccurate and constantly variable.1
