Thanks for all your responses. So an update
The land is unregistered to anyone. It turns out that a neighbour paid the council for the land (he was the first one to do so) but it turned out as no one seems to own it they council had to refund it to him and he has a drive on there. The are 16 drives out of 20 house now on this land.0 -
As I commented earlier all land is owned by someone, the owners just may not know that it's theirs.
Your best way forward would be to claim 'Adverse Possesion' but you can only start this procedure once the land has been fenced off for several years.1 -
Well the houses were built in 1912, the council did exactly the same saying they don't own it for future people apply to drop the kerb. However the information regarding neighbours having 2 titles may be correct looking on the landreigstry so going to investigate that further.0
