BBC WatchDog “if you are struggling with an unfair parking charge do get in touch”

Please email your PCN story to watchdog@bbc.co.uk they want to hear about it.
Please then tell us here that you have done so.

I replied and declined their offer and offered my own £0.00 in final settlement instead.

Figured it can't hurt letting them know I am happy to take this all the way so get on with it or discontinue.
Looking forward to soon adding a link to your case in the DCB Legal discontinuation thread of shame ..... tick tock! ⏰

We act for the Claimant in the above matter.

Our client has instructed us to discontinue Court proceedings and close our file. Therefore, please find enclosed the Claimant’s N279 Notice of Discontinuance for your records.

The attached has also been filed with the Court.

We will now proceed to close our file accordingly.

I am going to try call/email court to double check because I don't trust these *insert your own word here* as far as I could throw them.

Wonderful. As I intimated this would likely happen.

So it's off we go to the DCB Legal Thread of Shame, your case to be linked there, in perpetuity!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • Well done, we all saw this coming, it is DCBL after all  :D:D

What is a giggle with these DCBL discontinuations is this ...

"Our client has instructed us to discontinue Court proceedings and close our file"

In simple plain english it means that DCBL knew they had taken on a rubbish claim from Highview and best to chicken out now rather than getting a court spanking
  • Good job. I have noticed most discontinues occur before a WS is sent unless I'm wrong? Do discontinue happen after the claimant/solicitor sent a WS?

It's all a big try-on until DCBL wake up and realise that what they are doing is rubbish ?  The BIG try-on will last until they see a WS which is then chicken out time

It's like this forum is the rat catcher who chase them down a dead end hole

I honestly can’t thank you all enough. It’s amazing how much of your free time you spend helping all of us.

It’s a scary process, especially at the beginning. I can genuinely say that without this forum and all the detailed help and advice (and more than anything else the confidence you give people to fight back) I 100% would have ended up with a CCJ and paying these scammers off, likely in instalments (cost of living etc).

I am about to send that email to watchdog and I will continue to visit and help everyone fight back in any way I can.
What a waste of your time this was, and worse, as you say, they threatened your credit rating.  Horrible scam.

    Anyway, get your revenge:

We sincerely hope that you are au fait with the need to respond to the final Government Public Consultation?

We all need to ram the nail in the coffin of the false £70 'DRA fee' add-on, that actually funds the court claim and toxic CCJ culture, as well as the DRA and roboclaim 'legals' gaslighting of people.

Please come back here when it opens, and you can make sure you don't miss the Public Consultation:

If you are not a regular reader, to be alerted you'll need to bookmark the thread by MSE_JC at the top of the forum and enable (on your profile) email alerts for bookmarked threads.

Then join us when the Consultation opens in a few weeks
