After sending the above I was told a dissimilar registration had been entered.Coupon-mad said:
What response did you get to this? Are we talking one digit, or what?cici1988 said:will take a look now. Thanks again. I have briefly typed up a quick response, which I will amend once I have read the Gov private parking code as you have just mentioned.
"Please can you clarify if this was a major keying error or a minor keying error?
Under the BPA Code of practice and Government Private Parking Code of Practice I believe this should have been informed, it is your duty as the car parking operator to ensure that inadvertent errors do not lead to unjustified charges."
or should I just end correspondence with P.E now and leave the rest to my defence?
If you didn't ask, then send the above now to the email address I gave you earlier in the thread. You could always counter offer £20.0 -
You need to ask how dissimilar. Major or minor keying error? Ask for the actual (now matched but said to be 'dissimilar') VRM
See BPA CoP.
You could offer £20 if it's a completely unrecognisable VRM, given the current BPA Code of Practice.Of course, the new incoming Statutory Code of Practice says all keying errors must result in PCN cancellation.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Good result. However ..... if PE have withdrawn within 7 days of the court hearing date, you should be eligible for your costs. What date is on the letter and what was the date of your court hearing?cici1988 said:thanks for all of the help! i recieved a letter from parking eye on the day of the court hearing, they had pulled out! yay! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
