True, but you are not dealing with John Lewis here.  In such circumstance I would encourage them to take me to court and ask for unreasonable behaviour costs.

Have you complained to your MP?

You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

The letter I have received most recently is headed by 'county court business centre' - issued on the 21st Feb 2022 and yes it is a claim form.

With a Claim Issue Date of 21st February, you have until Monday 14th March to file an Acknowledgment of Service but there is nothing to be gained by delaying it.
To file an Acknowledgment of Service, follow the guidance in the Dropbox file linked from the second post in the NEWBIES thread.

Having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 28th March 2022 to file your Defence.
That's nearly three weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.
To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look again at the second post on the NEWBIES thread - immediately following where you found the Acknowledgment of Service instructions.
Don't miss the deadline for filing an Acknowledgment of Service, nor that for filing a Defence.

Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.

Parliamentary protocol dictates that it is your MP that you need to complain to.

By all means copy in the Southampton MP, as I'm sure he will be interested on what's going on on his/her patch.

Thanks everyone for the help so far. I have completed the AOS, now to write the defence. Is there anything in particular i should include in this? The only evidence i have to support me is the bank statements showing purchase of tickets and food at the Odeon on the date of the parking notice. Do i need to be clever with this or simply state that i was a paying customer and make note of the evidence i can supply?

Your defence needs to refute what the claimant is claiming on the POC.  Keep the story and evidence for the witness statement later in the process.  Providing you state you were a customer, adhered to the parking process and have evidence you can produce later, you will be able to tell the narrative (story) and produce that evidence that backs up and supports your defence.

new details have emerged from parking eye today, they have mentioned "please note that a term of contract is that motorists enter their full and correct vehicle registration into the terminal'. They are saying I have entered a 'dissimilar registration'. This is my breach of contract. I get it, but still very unfair? Should I keep going?
