Does anyone know if you can top up your biomass meter to beat the 1st April increase?

How is your biomass metered? The April price rise is for gas and electricity?

Biomass implies that you are using wood or wood pellets rather than something that gets metered like gas or leccy.

Providing you've got enough space that's fairly warm and dry to store your pellets then you can get as much as you like when you like.

As Matt suggests the guaranteed rises in April are for mains gas or leccy, everything else, wood, pellets, oil, LPG etc can be bought when you like at what ever price you can get it for assuming that you've got the space to store it.

Russia is one of the biggest suppliers of biomass.   So, that may well influence pricing.

Your post is 40 minutes old - it has already happened!

'Prices in the UK are thought to have risen by between 25pc and 40pc to as much as £385 a tonne, in line with costs across Europe'.

    Don't I know it!

First tonne bought was £305 in Mid December
Second tonne was £315 at end-January

Quotes now are indeed £385-£400 - ouch

Thinking of eking out the 350kg that I have and using the log-burner until May
