  • Sink looks a huge improvement.  I don't like the random cupboard next to the extractor - assume there is one the other side too?  But I would have shelving there instead.  I think it will help stop feeling 'hemmed in' as you come through the door into the kitchen, plus it just looks nicer.

Yes, there is another cupboard on the other side. This is just the angles they’ve screen shot as we decided we wanted a double oven instead. I do need the cupboard/drawer space as this is still a small kitchen. I’m really pleased with it. Compared to what we had and now potentially this, to me is a dream come true. Just need to get it done. Should be done by beginning of May as the kitchen fitter is booked up but still have plenty to be getting on with.

I would agree with the comment about the two wall units above the hob - Leaving that wall bare (except for the extractor) will increase the feeling of space and also allow extra light through the internal doorway.
Suggestion - Leave hanging those two units for last. Spend a little time in the kitchen to get a feel for it, and if you really want the extra cupboards, they can be hung the next day.

Her courage will change the world.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

    Hi,
Will get them to put those up last.  There isn't actually an internal door there, we just gave the the dimensions of the kitchen area so there is plenty of light already coming through.  It was easier to just go with it rather than give them an explanation of a cloakroom and hallway.

I'd go all the way to the ceilings with the upper cupboards, just to avoid having to clean the tops of cupboards.

In a previous home we inherited top kitchen cupboards that the cat could jump on from the worktop. So he did.  I don't think I bothered cleaning the tops before we moved......... (oops! never mind, they ripped the whole lot out anyway)

Much prefer the second kitchen design!

One thing…have you looked at a single oven with a combination oven above rather than a double oven? You mentioned a growing family so would give you more oven space and works well now you have the oven at eye level!
  • Keep the splashback, if you like it.

So, you're going for cream cabinets, cream wall and beige-y floor tiles, with a beech-effect work surface, is that right?  It might be a little too bland overall.
I know, was using accessories to add colour. I found a really nice light grey floor tile I’m considering using to break it up.
I've just realised that my post might have sounded critical, but I didn't mean it that way - my own kitchen is white walls, cream units and a light wood worktop too, although I went with darker brown LVT floorboards because I just don't like grey.

To add contrast, I've got copper handles on all units, as well as copper taps on the sink and - my builder was a genius for this - copper tape edging the top of my splashback tiles (I forget the name of what it's called: essentially it's like a trim along the top edge of my tiles because they don't go all the way up to the ceiling).  What annoys me every day is that I didn't think to get a copper smoke extractor over the oven, so that's just boring chrome.

And then I used accent colour which by chance was duck-egg blue because I acquired some Living Heritage branded stuff from a friend who didn't like it anymore, so just went with that.  The rug, art work, accent paint, utensils are all duck-egg green colour.  Anything else (wall clock, flower planters) is copper.

Just wanted to mention that in case it helps with planning what to get.
  • The mixture of colors  looks great instead of making your kitchen black and white some colors like light blue and reddish is the best combination to make your kitchen looking luxury your walls color must be different with your kitchen cabinet color the only way to make your kitchen attractive is Cabinet painting Vaughan

We have a teal glass splashback with a white and dark grey kitchen - top units white, lower units dark grey. We also have a white quartz worktop, stainless steel sink, and a dark grey LVT floor...
  • Just a quick update. Plastering starts tomorrow. It will be so nice to finally have the ceiling covered again, it’s starting to stress me out a lot. Still struggling on colour for my walls. Looking at Apple white walls but as yet not able to find the right shade.

You can walk straight into the kitchen, past the utility room from the front door, so I have been looking at a nice neutral, warm colour to start with and then maybe having a feature colour wall to break it up.

I may just paint it an off white and see when everything is in, it’s hard to imagine when you have a blank canvas. I did have a suggestion from a friend and wondered if anyone has it in their house… it’s F&B Elephant breath!! Never heard of it but it’s quite a nice colour….

I had Elephant’s breath in my previous house, looked lovely in the south facing rooms but too blue toned for me in the north facing rooms.
