Have you seen woman's weekly competitions? Takes about 5 mins a day. We've only won some vegan pretzel snacks so far (although great excitement at any win!) but my mum has won a holiday and an iPad plus a few smaller prizes over the years so I know it's genuine.

    Good afternoon,

Thank you @stymied i haven't look at those but i will have a look over the weekend. I have to say I have become a little addicted to entering the competitions i am not sure if i will even win anything, I have zero luck in most things but i will persevere and keep trying at the very least i am in the draws so i have a chance. I am not sure how much people who do it properly spend on them but i am trying. It is more something to do in a bit of free time instead of looking at holidays i can't afford, or random bits i cant afford.

Today has been ok so far took dd to her club and took drinks. Ordered some paint and wemt and collected it soent £18 including a new roller my card wasnt working as i need to activate my new bank card so i had to put it on my cc i will pay it off later today once my card is sorted, OH is giving me the money for it.

I am going for a quick shower then me and dd have a birthday party, present was given in the week. I also need to get some petrol as i didnt yesterday and collect food shop i am hoping my card works for that otherwise again i will need to use cc if they call to let me know when the payment is due.

All food from stores...and hopefully the party 😉 will also get a joint out for tomorrow. Need to do a freezer list tomorrow as both are still bursting ready for my big meal plan for next month. I have never had so much food in the house at the end of the month and that is through careful planning and not throwing things away.

One load of washing done and outside, need to change the beds but will do it later ready to wash and dry outside tomorrow.

Right off for a wash and to get ready.
  • A not so bright but very fresh morning today!

Yesterday was a ok day, unfortunately i didnt get to change my beds, Mr T shop had changed the location of my click and collect without telling me, after an hour waiting on a carpark whilst on the phone i found it out that it was 6 miles away, i put in a complaint and they gave £60 goodwill due to the inconvenience of it, so next months big shop will have £60 of shopping from mr T so i can use the vouchers.then OH brought me a takeaway as dd was at a sleepover, i am using the meat to make a cottage pie that i will freeze for in the week.

    Todays plans
Get up (we had a late night watching the boxing)
    Finish decorating the living room
All food from stores, a yummy beef Sunday dinner today with all the trimmings.
    General housework
    Change the beds
    Cook cottage pie and freeze.
    Half an hour entering competitions
    Put clean washing away
Right time to get up and get started.
  • My day is not going as well as i would have liked, i have completed the decorating and it looks lovely i just need to put the curtains up later and put the meat in the oven. Need to get a wriggle on with other things to actually get something else done in the house. I will go and make a start on the veggies for dinner and hopefully that will spur me on to tidy the kitchen up and hopefully start me getting my mojo!
  • Yesterday was good, did most of what i wanted in the end, except make a cottage pie, that will be a job for today.

Today will be spendy its the day i am going to get dds last bits for school including shoes and a bag, need to do the list of what we need. Seriously not looking forward to how much it will all cost.

I am so happy with how my living room feels now its fresher, i do want to start on my hallway but its such a big job i need OH to help and hes got a lot on this week, so we shall see! He may offer to do it when i am back at work.

    Todays plans
One load of washing in, one more to go
    Dry all washing outside
    General housework
    All food from stores
Make a list of uniform stuff needed
    Go and buy uniform stuff
Maybe gym tonight depending on time.
Start meal plan and freezer audit.
If i have time make a start on the big shopping list for the month.
Buy teabags as i won't last until Friday.

Thats all for now will hopefully add to it through the day....
  • Yesterday was very expensive due to school uniform stuff, everything was planned and my dad gave me £80 towards the rest of what i needed, which has really helped. I didnt manage the gym or the meal plan last night so I plan on doing both today. I am going to get up shortly have a drink then get ready for an earlyish morning at the gym, whilst i have a bit of free time. I am aiming for a nsd day today as i dont need anything.

    Todays plans
    All food from stores
    Nsd
Dd has a club later, ake drinks with me
Freezer audit and so my meal plan and start the shopping list
1 load of washing to do and hopefully dry on the clothes airer as the weather isnt great
Polish all through the house and general clean in kitchen and bathroom and tidy everywhere else.
    Half an hour entering competitions
    Go to the gym
    Print off some tickets.

Thats my start for today, i think its enough for now

  • Yesterday i has a massive change of plan, and after the gym i ended up having a "day off" housework. Oh did everything that needed to be done and i relaxed, which was a wonderful change! So today many jobs will roll over. I am still entering competitions, not won anything yet though but i am continuing to try in the hope i may and its a nice hobby i am enjoying.

I remembered the date this morning and its OHs nephews birthday, so we may have to go to theirs later if they are in to take his card and money down.

Dd has asked for a bake off style day, i am hoping i have everything we need in, she always wants to use her waffle maker she got for Christmas that is still in the box, so hopefully i will have everything i need for waffle mix otherwise i may need to pop to Mr T but will use some of my gift card from the weekend, but hoping to avoid if possible.

Weve worked out OHs working days this week and we have 1 day together over the bank holiday, so I will speak with my mom if me and dd can go to her holiday home for a night away, it breaks the weekend up a bit for us.

    Todays plans:
    All food from stores
    Freezer audit and meal plan
Do shopping list and make order for weekend
    Polish all through the house
Do some of my work and prep for returning back.
    Print tickets
Clean out meter cupboard as its being changed tomorrow so it will be updated and I can have an upto date smart meter will then begin monitoring again and start setting limits.
Washing and dry outside despite it being gloomy.
Gym later so ive been twice this week.
    Half an hour entering competitions
  • I thought i had done terribly yesterday but reading through my list i have done well. Still not done freezer audit, i am going to do it after writing this. Also need to prep work stuff but OH is at work tonight and so I will do it when DD is in bed. I will print tickets later as i need to sort them out too, wont take long just a bit if faffing about.

Used voucher in Mr T, did need to get dog food and a bottle of wine for a friend (i dont know about wine so grabbed one that was £10 hopefully should be decent...i hope) as my friend is doing something for dd that should cost £80+ today if i were to pay her fees but bless her shes refusing to accept payment.

    Todays list:
Lsd may run late for dd club so wont come home to get myself a hot drink so may need to purchase one, it will be a cheap place though.
    Meals from stores
Take dd to appointment with friend
Sort the kitchen out before the engineer comes to change the meters
    Freezer audit
    Print tickets
    Work prep
Take dd to her club this afternoon
1 load of washing in, it may need to go in the dryer but will put what i can in the airer.

Thats all for now, i am going to drink my tea and make a start!
  • A late night check in from me.
Just finished this months big shop, after my vouchers it cost £151 spread across 2 shops, one to be collected tomorrow morning and the bigger one to be delivered tomorrow evening, £2.75 spent in total for this convenience but it does save me money not going into the shops. I will still need toiletries but not for another week or so, i will pop into l!dl for those as its cheaper!

    Todays jobs:
Lsd may run late for dd club so wont come home to get myself a hot drink so may need to purchase one, it will be a cheap place though.-£4 spent as i could only find a cost a lot shop....
Meals from stores - done a late night mixture of allsorts, dd ate at mils
Take dd to appointment with friend - done and dd is sorted!
Sort the kitchen out before the engineer comes to change the meters - done and meters all set up and running with upto date smart meter reader
    Freezer audit - done
Print tickets - on list for in the morning
Work prep - on list for in the morning
Take dd to her club this afternoon - done
1 load of washing in, it may need to go in the dryer but will put what i can in the airer - none in the dryer all on the airer, need it dry tomorrow though as it is starting to build up as i am waiting for the weather to get better.

Tomorrow is payday. Lots of bills to go out and zopa to finally be paid off....right off for a cuppa before bed!
  • I am feeling really good after yesterdays accomplishments, until lying in bed this morning i realised i somehow missed pasta sauce off my shopping list, so i will pop into Mr T this morning and use the last of my gift card i may need to put £2 to it as i need milk too and its on my later tonight order, typically.

Today, i need to get lots of washing done and outside as it is lovely and bright, as OH is up before me he has strict instructions to put the washing outside once the load has finished.

I am a bit deflated by the energy prices this morning, it is just disgusting, how can the government not be questioning the high profits of the energy companies...because MPs can afford their gas and electric whereas everyone else has to juggle and worry...who is looking out for us!i try not to get political but everytime something like this happens i worry, my mom who is on her own worries and gets upset and starts panicking, its affecting so many peoples mental health and wellbeing it needs to be acted upon!

    Anyway off my soapbox...todays plans

Have a cuppa in bed whilst printing tickets
    Get some pasta sauce
    Collect 1 lot of shopping
    Put all shopping away
    General housework
Washing and dry outside, aiming for 2 loads
    Prep work
    Keep energy under £3
All food from stores -need to get sausage out this morning
    30mins entering competitions
Look into survey sites, 30 minutes doing surveys. I have done them before but i want to actually try and do 30 minutes an evening, when i am back at work i will aim for 30 minutes x 3 times a week.

Right i suppose i best put the printer on and make a start!
