Hi.   Just had THE email, and I understand the increases etc etc.  but just wanted to check one thing.

With Eon Next, do they have any "funny" buttons on their website where clicking on something AUTOMATICALLY means you've signed up, without having a chance to check all the info.

The button says "renew now", without seeing the options, in detail, that they are offering.    Is the next page the one that gives your options, or if the ONLY deal they are offering is the V12, will it assume that's what you're renewing onto.   (obviously "do nothing" will revert to Next Flex, once our fix ends)

Does anyone have the tariff rates for the V12 deal (East Midlands region), and is it 1 yr or 2yr fix?

I didn't want to click, just in case, even though we might go for it, after i've done the maths. (i've read about suppliers treating that click as acceptance)

Thanks all.

It's very badly phrased. The renew now takes you to the tariff options, if there are any. You have 14 day cooling off period if you do get cold feet (literally at today's prices).

You can check out the various tariffs by going to https://www.eonnext.com/tariff-search and putting in your postcode. For East Midlands, and the Online V12 I'm getting...

    Electricity 32.8 p/kWh s/c 44.75 p/day
    Gas 8.53 p/KWh s/c 27.22 p/day

I just had a quick look out of curiosity and I don't trust at least some of the figures. The page says the prices quoted for the Next Flex tariff will be those that take effect from 1 April 2022 but they are showing the October 2021 price cap values (for my postcode anyway). Hopefully the others are correct...

    Thanks Guys.

I agree the Next Flex quote that they've given me, based on the usage estimates used (which are pretty much actuals, as i keep my own log)

And the on-line tariff checker gives those figures FreeBear gave above.

New line on the spreadsheet required!!!

V12 is coming out (for us) at £1704, with the April cap rates at £1487.

So that seems a no brainer to go for the V12, as that's only 14.5% higher.

Button pressed!!!    Yes, it does let you review everything until you actually press the final go ahead button.

Our switch won't actually happen until our fix ends mid-April.

I'm not sure why you would fix for 14.5% higher than the SVR. In my case EON.Next V12 is 16% higher than the April SVR. The April SVR is 43% above the current SVR. V12 is 66% above the current SVR. So I have to choose between do nothing for a 43% increase, and fix on V12 for 66% increase.

Well it is a gamble on what the October 22 cap is going to be for next winter.

Yes, V12 is higher than SVT, but that's over the summer, when our usage will be minimal.

OFGEM may even review the cap early, so the April SVT prices may not last 6 months.

Out of curiosity, did you look at, think of, fixing for two years?

I fixed on the eon 2yr v18. It was April 1st capped tariff. Extra standing charge of £50 per fuel, per year.
