Are you sure they weren't repairs by your fitters that have now come away?
I suppose it could be an electric shaver with a bit of weight but all our tiles have always broken the thing landing on them rather than break themselves.
Either way it sounds too small an issue to make a big fuss about especially with no proof if you're otherwise happy with the lodger. By the time you come to sell your bathroom with be old enough for a couple of chips not to make any difference. Still annoying but probably a 'that's life' thing.2 -
