Lidl prices displayed not matching charge at till

Common practice I'm afraid at LIdl and something that should be clamped down upon, by someone. Recent examples that I've noticed have been beefburgers (occurred last year at previous price increase) blackcurrent and muesli. There is the aggravation of coming back and getting the issue dealt with and not a word of thanks or an apology from the staff, they appear to look upon you as a nuisance and hardly say a word. All this is taking place in the one check out open. full of impatient customers who probably look upon the customer complaining as the problem.
Went back a couple of weeks later and checked the prices, Lidl's solution was to remove the price labels on the shelves, so items being sold without the customer knowing the price. Just how much money is being made from unsuspecting customers from this practice? There is just no reasonable excuse for it to happen. Shop with caution at Lidl.

Not true. I had a notification of a price change via Trolley so went down to my local Asda to source. The SELs had not been updated, but there was a massive promotional sign attached to the gondola. When I got to the till I found it hadn't been programmed into the system. It was rectified (long story behind this, but it did happen in the end).English_Electric said:
Human error seems to be a particular problem with my Lidl therefore, fed up with having to remember prices and double check everything at the till and on the receipt I have stopped my weekly shop there some weeks ago and to be honest the Tesco or Asda that i use don't have the same pricing issues also the price Aldi/Lidl price match on many items makes them more viable alternatives than they were formerly.BabychamPrincess said:I was in Lidl recently and yet again was charged a different price then on the label, spoke to manager who said it was human error, and it happens in other stores as well,
What is a gamechanger in the efficiency of supermarkets are headphones that work.

I said "the Tesco or Asda that I use don't have the same pricing issues" so I was not referring to all their shops. I am sure that mistakes happen in all shops but there seems to be a repeated pattern in the Bangor Lidl (at the time of the posts) which kept happening despite complaints by me.0

(As mentioned before on a different post we don’t pack until we’re the other side of the till). While I pack the shopping into our bags OH carefully checks the till receipt. When our local Lidl opened more years ago than I care to remember we made a thorough nuisance of ourselves at practically every visit because there were so many discrepancies between shelf and till receipt prices. It was the only way. They soon improved!
We still check religiously the receipts in any supermarket we shop in, including the local Lidl but rarely find mistakes.
would've . . . could've . . . should've . . .

Shop with caution at Lidl.My local Lidl has recently switched to digital displays (seems to be using some variant of e-ink tech) for the shelf-edge price labels, which automatically update with central price changes. This switch has happened in the last 2-3 weeks (but not in the chilled/freezer sections). I asked a staff member and they stated it was some kind of trial.I can always grab a couple of photos, when I next visit at the weekend, if there is interest. The cynical part of me reckons that it has to do with increased efficiencies / reduced staff requirements. But at least I can now (mostly) trust the prices I am being shown...0
