Today, 14th June ..
Toastie loaf on shelf for 55p. Charged 59p at till. Till guy actually refunded 18p by way of applying 30% discount . I asked if price would be corrected on shelf. He said it would so I will check next time as this goes to whether mistakes are being corrected.0 -
This can happen. We online shop since covid but last few months go to the supermarkets at quiet times for treats and odds and ends.
Often spending around 20 quid per shop but this is how we got caught out.
Stuff we buy we give a quick look to the price and the prices can vary a lot per week.
Picked up some pies, 2 quid a pie for yonks but at the till 2-50p we noted in the car - next time we went back and we noted the prices had gone up as on so many other things.
Look at the prices and at times not easy to see as so many similar prices/items and buy 2 for xx or one for xxx.

This is a case of mis-pricing by Lidl which no amount of vigilance would resolve however the advice to look at the prices is good, if you can remember them at the till0

Obviously this is still happening. I had noticed that I was being charged £2.39 for bacon when it was £2.19 on the price ticket. (Lidl)
So last week I raised it with the stores manager who checked the price and have me a refund of £2.40.
Last night whilst shopping I noticed that there was no price ticket on the same bacon, so after paying I checked the receipt and had been charged £2.39.
After putting the shopping in the car I decided to see how much the bacon was advertised for online, you can imagine my surprise when the price came up at £1.99.
Back into the store to be told nothing they can do, I must contact customer services but they take ages to answer.
Hmm do they I thought?
Back into the car and CS picked up straight away, apologised and gave me a code to give to the manager so he could refund me.
Back into the store, a different 'manager' this time, didn't believe me, said the price going forward is £2.39. I said so why have I been given this code for a refund and why is it showing £1.99 online.
Reluctantly he put the code into the till and gave me 40p.
I shall see what the prices are next week when I go in.
A lot of hassle for a small amount of money, but I won't be ripped off.
Even worse was couple a couple of weeks ago in Aldi. Skin on frozen fries 99p from £1.75.
I bought 5 packets (freezer was almost empty so lots of purchases) to be charged £1.75 at the till.
Refunded for the whole amount £8.75 but how many other people had paid the full price before I highlighted the issue, and did they change the price in the till after I'd left?
Sorry for the long post but this really winds me up.

I've just done a shop at Lidl and I do look at prices on the shelves but I can only remember a few - today I bought 32 items. How do you find time to check the till receipt? I've looked at my till receipt and the prices I remember are correct.
Oh, for the days when price stickers were on food!0 -
It's impossible to remember everything and I suppose a bit of luck tbh. I remembered the bacon as it was the same price in Aldi and just stuck in my mind.

I didn’t think Lidl showed online prices apart their weekly offers? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
They do on the website Google an item ie Lidl dry cured bacon.1

I was in Lidl recently and yet again was charged a different price then on the label, spoke to manager who said it was human error, and it happens in other stores as well, I told him this had happened quite a lot also items put in front of cheaper price labels when the dearer had sold out, also once a price label for around £1.50 was on Potato salad, and I knew this was normally dearer, looking closely at label it was for a tub smaller in size although they have never sold a smaller one, however the manager did tell me there labelling is going digital soon.
