Hi,
Just got home now and noticed that i had a card through the door saying parcel behind the gate. Now my side gate is in line with the house and only 5 feet from the pavement.
Now the gate was already open there is only a latch on the top as it's only used to store the wheelie bins and few garden things compost etc nothing of major value. As there is another gate down the bottom which is bolted from the otherside that leads to the back of the house.
Anyway there were no parcels there and as i've been in work all day it does not say what time the were delivered.
Now these are very expensive items which are christmas presents now i'm  that these idiots were do such a thing. I've had another parcel from Parcelforce aswell which was delivered to a neighbour. I also had another item from HDN last week which was delivered to a neighbour.
I'm gonna phone Tesco first to see what they have to say on the matter, but should i phone HDN and see what they have to say on it?
Why do they do this?

Same thing happened to me ordered only £30 worth of stuff got home found SIm card envelope through door other items not there... apparently they left on the doorstep...
Tesco refund me the items... subsequently 2 more TD orders paid for, despatched HDN now refuse to deliver to me (because some items went missing) long story short TD have my cash for these orders, havent yet refunded...
Bunch of jokers the pair of them,
CS at TD said she gets at least 10 calls a day where parcels are missing..because of where they were left...
Why are they then still using them...

Great!
So Tesco did not refund you straight away then?0 -
They had to file a log with HDN who then had to interview the driver...as it was only a small sum they refunded within a few days ...
How much was your order worth?
Now because of this HDN wont deliver (just found out) to me after I have placed 2 TD orders that are now in limbo between HDN and TD (who wont refund for these until back in warehouse   )
Am gonna take this further as they have my funds, they have despatched goods (contract formed) but HDN wont deliver...Bit of a Florida Fan :j

Or you get the one's that pop the parcel in the dustbin  believe me i've had this a couple of times, no card through the door or anything. It's not until i went to put rubbish in the bin that i was ever aware there was a parcel in there.Hit the snitch button!member #1 of the official warning clique.

its tescos problem with HDN not yours.
You havent signed for the items, so they cant prove whether or not you have had them
Tesco's should see this and refund you or reorder the items for you.
Dont bother contacting HDN, though, it will take you ages to get through and they will say contact Tescos as thats who your contract of sale is with
Let us know what they say0 -
Just rang Tescos and they say yes it was left behind the gate as thats what is on the invoice. I went mad and said do you tell them to leave £200 of items behind a non secure (ish) gate?
I have not bothered phoning HDN as Tesco said they will be doing that for me.0 -
ill be honnest i do sympathise with the drivers, they have loads of items to deliver and they have to get rid of them the day they are in the area, otherwise it goes back in the following day, even if they arent in that area
It goes down to bad management really, if they didnt have as many items to deliver, they could deliver more successfully, rather then dumping anywhere that looks remotely "safe"0 -
I feel really bad for you.
I must admit that I have arrangements with regular delivery drivers ie Royal Mail/postlady/HDN to leave stuff in my dedicated green recycling box left in my garden. They always without fail leave notes to say when they they use my 'deliveries' box. The postlady is very trustworthy and signs any recorded deliveries that can fit through the door. Bigger items she takes back with her and comes by later in the day on her way home.Fortunately I'm only ever out for a couple of hours and we live in a 'nice safe' area. It is so much easier for me this way than to have to 1) wait in all day or 2) got to sorting offices.

At the end of the day why order valuable items if your not going to be there to sign for delivery?
It doesnt make sense
Some people will moan if the drivers dont leave them somewere and others if they do
Its really a no win for the drivers
If its the valuable or important to you pay extra for guarenteed delivery when your in or choose delivery to a location were your guarenteed someone will be in0
