Thats sounds a great idea @CMD79.

You will be most welcome on the Payment a Day thread, we are on for a huge month of PADS and very much likely will break the record for the year so far!

Its very motivating seeing others make PADs no matter how small, just remember not to leave yourself short!

    Hey,
Just catching up. How did you manage with this? Did you have to get some money out of your earlier savings you had given to your husband to cover it?
You won't get caught next year though I bet. ;)

    Hi everyone,

ive had a very busy few days earning money. I’m loving the Make An Extra £10 A Day Challenge, though the group is quite quiet. But anyway, I’ve made £757.90 so far in August!!! And 10 days to go!!

I know I should pay Very, but the feeling of closing the fluid account I think will be pretty good, so I’m going to do that! I’ll pay the left overs off of Very, and I think I’m ready to start A Payment A Daying from 1st September off Very to aim to get paid off by November with extra earnings. Im due a bonus and a pay rise, so although I don’t know for sure, I think that will cover Very, and a chunk of Next as well by November. 🤞

Feeling pretty good right now, and I have been invited to do future, extra work 🤩
    You are doing amazingly well.
Its a great feeling when you can close down an account and not have to worry about it anymore.
    D.x

Thank you! I'm feeling really positive this week with how well I've done. :)

Well, you know they say, "honesty is the best policy."

Prime example!! I said to my husband what had happened, and because I'd worked out my money to the penny, he transferred me the £30 and said, "Sorted." And that was that!!!!! Who knew communicating makes everything better!!?? I just wish I knew this before!!

    Hi @Lemonade_budget,

Thank you! It's totally changed everything now that it's out in the open. I also feel better able to stick to paying it off because of him knowing. It's one thing being accountable on a MSE forum, but knowing that he's been this good and letting him down is really a huge motivator for me to get this sorted out. We should have a huge disposable income between our salaries, and if I really press on and get it all paid off, we can try to enjoy our lives together, I hope.

Have you got a diary? I just saw you're signature. You've got a little bit above a mole hill to climb yourself?

    xx

Today..... I have paid off a card!! Only the Fluid card, the littlest card, but it's paid off and cut up and on its way to landfill.

Thanks to my extra earnings in August, I have cleared my first debt, recalculated my snowball calculator and now set to be debt free by May 2024. That's 7 months ahead of my first snowball calculation.

And, today I have picked up more extra work - completely different to the previous extra work and extra work before that, and thankfully, this one isn't cleaning (which is blooming hard work!!) or standing up and enthusiastically encouraging children (also very hard work!)

I fact, since the Payment A Day peeps are doing so well, I'm going to join that thread now so they can add my big wins on!!  :D
Congratulations on getting rid of the first card, and at this rate you could be debt free by the end of next year, possibly it will be your 2023 christmas present to yourself :D
Dont forget to give yourself a small treat for clearing it :D

Aaaaaaah. I dream of this daaaaaaaay!!! Let this hell be over so I can live like an actual human again!!!

Well, on your advice @SusieT I'm off to buy a stand up paddle board in the sale! Not really. I'm going to sit on the rest for my September buffer, so that I can try my hand at PADding with my future extra earnings!
